‘Real World Homecoming: Los Angeles’ is currently filming

I find it odd that these people are what, in their 50s by now, and are able to just drop their life to go do this. Didn't they used to live in a house together for months?

R1 Homecoming is 1 week.

I’ve never understood why Aaron and Dom went completely MIA after their season. Aaron did not come off particularly well on the show, and could have done some reputation resuscitation at a reunion or a challenge. I feel like if you sign up for something like this, you sort of owe it to the production and your cast mates and audience to show up.

Is one of them trans? The men to women ratio is not adding up vs the original pic.

R4, Beth A(the lesbian) replaced Irene the cop when Irene got married. Glen replaced David. Then there was Tami Roman, Aaron the surfer guy, Dominic from Ireland, Beth S the psycho and Jon Brennan the virgin cowboy.

R3 Aaron didn’t like being on TV and wanted nothing to do with any of it after. There’s nothing wrong with that. He was a young guy. I’m sure the idea of being on TV was appealing but once he was there he didn’t care for it.

I don’t feel he came off that bad. He was just very conservative/Republican, like many white guys are, especially then.

R11 disagree 100%. I rewatched it recently and it’s very real, honest, and nothing felt fabricated. The cast was just filled with bigger personalities than NY.

The switch to just DRAMA instead of what happened when people stopped being polite and started getting real happened after the first Vegas season.

During a recent illness, I rewatched this season on Paramount Plus. The abortion episode really stuck out in how differently we discussed issues back then. Jon was vocally against abortion, but he was very supportive of Tami as one of his closes friends in the house. Aaron was also personally opposed, but vocally pro-choice. In general, they were able to discuss through differences in a way that doesn’t happen much now.

Why does wiki says that Beth S. has two daughters and one of them is s fan of the show Stranger Things? She didn't had children when it was filmed in 1993. And Stranger Things came out 23 years later.

Aaron's the only real reason I would want to watch a reunion show of LA. Blond bombshell!

IMO, if Irene had wanted to finish out the season, she would have. She was too normal (not an insult) for the BS, wanted out, and had a good reason to get out.

There was also the time that MTV sent them on an Outward Bound thing to try and get them to bond a little, which did happen, but only because the instructors were such cunts that they all teamed up against them.

Oh god why? This was one of the least likable seasons! Esp those attention whores Tami & Beth Chubb. I might peek in to see what Dom turned out like.

The first 3 seasons are big deals. London was a bore. Miami changed the format.

They actually contacted the Hawaii cast about possibly doing one, but Amaya went on Twitter to let everyone know so they canned it.

I was surprised to learn how many people hate this season. It was my first, and at a perfect early teen age for it, so I have a huge soft spot for this cast.

It’s also the first season that brought the entire cast from all over the country and moved them in together vs the previous 4, where it was all locals with one young person new to the city.

I've seen Tami in different things over the years. I think she's grown and changed (in a good way).

I had no idea there were 33! seasons of the Real World, Paris (S13, 2003) is the last season I watched.

Looking at the list, the only seasons I have watched in full are NY (1992), LA (1993), San Francisco (1994), Boston (1997), Seattle (1998), Hawaii (1999), Vegas (2002-2003), and Paris (2003) and of those seasons LA is my least favorite.

I sporadically watched London (1995) and Miami (1996) and barely remember anything. Someone’s tongue was bitten off, there was a Cuban girl who wore red lipstick, a Russian girl….

My friend had the issue of Playboy that had the Real World/Road Rules girls in it. We couldn't believe they used Beth S. They never showed a clear shot of her face, airbrushed out her hairy mole, and she had fried egg titties. Flora was in it too, but at least she had nice breasts.

I worked on a scene on the one-and-done Kyra Sedgwick show "10 Days in the Valley" and it was filmed at Beth S's house and the houses next door in Hollywood. She was nice and seemed to be living a regular married Mom life. I was the only one who recognized her.

Glenn was never a roommate. They interviewed Beth and Glenn to replace The Hispanic woman who was leaving to get married. They picked the lesbian.

Trishelle gets embarrassed seeing herself on RW now. She says she was such a naive little girl, new to the world. Remember, she spent her whole life in a small town in Louisiana with her sister and dad. This was her first time going to a big city, and she did it because she longed to experience different things and craved diversity and meeting different types of people. She’s nothing like her sister and dad, who love their small town lives. She wanted to meet different types of people, who were different races, and sexualities etc.

She was so soft spoken and had a southern accent on the show. Now she’s not soft spoken at all and no longer has her accent, although it comes out around family

Season one in New York to season two in LA was a dramatic plummet in quality, casting, setting.

It's shocking how unlikeable they all are. It seems like a pilot season.

Joe Patane (of Brooklyn, NY) RW Miami: unintentionally hilarious with his Brooklyn accent. He was definitely not the best-looking guy out there, but women were attracted to him. He had that super-tall girlfriend (and he was kinda short).

R101 again, disagree. LA had bigger personalities, who were a lot more in your face, and I find the season far more fun to watch. NYC was an experiment and it worked out but it plays out like an experiment. It’s the blueprint.

With LA, the people behind the scenes now knew what they needed to do and it worked.

I listened to Mohammed from Real World SF and he mentioned how the cast originally bonded with each other, and then Puck was introduced.

Puck dominated the entire season and at least half of the confessionals and storyline concerned him.

The rest of the cast were more introverted and respectful and that season would have likely been much better without him.

I never understood people who liked Puck. Ever.

Vegas had a Homecoming season before it was Homecoming. It was called “Reunited”.

In 2008 they gave them a reunion season where they filmed in their famous suite for two weeks, for the 5 year anniversary of the show. It was the first and only season to be given a reunion season because of it being the franchise’s highest rated season and it being their most popular season ever.

Well it was the first but now not only, with Homecoming becoming a thing.

Dominick went on to make occasional radio appearances in LA as a movie critic.

He went by the nickname "Dominick, the Movie Mick".

It’s also well known Puck had terrible hygiene. He would go weeks without bathing.

One of the Real World books had a factoid that Genesis from Real World Boston didn't wash her sheets for the entire six months of filming in the house

LA was terrific. If you loved London you loved watching them all kumbaya and watch TV all day. It was a bore and considered the franchises most boring season.

Las Vegas was the season where they finally dropped any pretense about it being a serious, social-experiment-type show, and it just became "let's cast all hot, stupid people who we know will fight and fuck each other". Before that, especially in the earlier seasons, they would cast people who seemed to have actual goals in life and were about pursuing them. With the Vegas season, it became Trash TV.

When dumb-as-dirt Steven and Trashelle had a "pregnancy scare" after raw-dogging every goddamn night for the whole season, I thought "are these the two stupidest people on Earth? Do you not know how babies are made?" Thank Christ it was a false alarm, because the thought of those two total morons creating their own demon spawn was frightening.

They both agreed that if they’re gonna do a season in Vegas and in a suite, all the cast members must be 21+ (the cut off age was 25 then) and attractive. They knew this season could push the franchise to places it hadn’t been yet and bring in new viewers.

They intentionally cast only hot straight people (one of the very few seasons to not have an LGBT person on it) so that there could be more love drama etc.

While casting they asked questions to them they never did on previous seasons, about if they’re comfortable having sex knowing cameramen and producers etc. can see them and stuff like that.

They created the cast they wanted for Vegas, and found the exact people to fit the bill.

However, the Vegas cast exceeded even their expectations, with a pregnancy scare, Brynn becoming a jealous psycho over Trishelle and Steven fucking and assaulting Steven because she wanted him for herself, Irulan fucking their boss and then playing victim etc.

They thought sweet timid Frank from a small town and sweet southern belle Trishelle would end up an item but she wanted the bad guy, Steven.

Vegas was a hot mess and I loved watching every second it those whores.

Steven was at best bi. Friend hooked up with him for a while. Huge cummer.

Steven, someone I’ve met and conversed with, is not bi. However, he is and was a very vocal ally to us back when it wasn’t cool. Even on their season he was always standing up for us when Alton would be a homophobic asshole.

Since he was in HS he always made close friends with gay people and he was bullied and isolated for it, but he never turned his back on us. He would March in Prides and his closest friend was a gay man.

I told Steven how as a closeted gay teen, hearing him speak up for us and always being so pro gay really touched me, because I didn’t know anyone like him then. Every straight guy I knew was pretty homophobic, including my family. It was refreshing to see and hear a straight man be friends with gays and defend us.

Towards the end of the season, the group confronted him and he finally started to open up to them. I think that's why (for me at least) it's hard to remember anything he did other than "Come on Be My Baby Tonight," not know how to change a tire and fight with Melissa when he wanted to rap on their public access show.

That season was all about (Mormon) Julie, Melissa (and her crush on Jamie), Danny (his military boyfriend Paul) and Kelly as Danny's hag who also had some boyfriend named Peter. David and Matt (the other religious one) were kind of the odd men out.

More updates - According to this Twitter thread, preproduction for Season 3 is underway. Not San Francisco or London. And not Hawaii as Amaya again confirms. Later in the thread Amaya clarifies that her castmate Justin was up for it, so in all likelihood Kaia, Matt and Colin did not want to do it. Bummer.

The most rumored guesses for a Season 3 of Homecoming currently are S9 New Orleans, S12 Las Vegas and S14 Austin.

Definitely disappointed as a fan of the original first 10 seasons that we most likely won't be getting reunions for all of them. I think the shows would still be fun/interesting even if they only did an hour long reunion with some of the cast. It wouldn't have to be a full series, but maybe MTV/Bunim-Murray or Paramount Plus don't think that's worth it.

Montana from the Boston season recently appeared on the Challenge Mania podcast and confirmed that the majority of the Boston cast wanted to do a Homecoming, but that Sean Duffy did not want to. She says they are all mad at him because they wanted to do it for the experience and intimated that they were frustrated because the money was good. They kicked him out of their group chat haha. She calls him Sean Daffy lol. But she also said she'd be happy if he came even if just for a day.

She said perhaps production wasn't interested because the cast all stays in touch and gets along more or less. But she also says that Bunim- Murray might change their mind at some point and revisit the season with whichever cast members agree to reunite. She also brought up the idea of a Real World All Stars with cast members from different seasons reunited.

Teck was on the Mike Lewis podcast and claims all of the Hawaii roommates were in contact. He says (and Amaya confirmed on Twitter) that he, Amaya, Ruthie and Justin definitely wanted to do it. Matt doesn't want to do it because he said he's been out of the spotlight for 20 years and wants to keep it that way. He said Colin and Kaia were initially open to the idea, but Colin said no and Kaia said she didn't want to either if he wasn't going to do it. Amaya claims on Twitter that Kaia has since cut them all off from any contact.
