Tenses? To have lied down. I lied down. After I lay my crisps on the kitchen countertop. I lay down doesn't sound gramatically incorrect, does it? And whilst we're on the subject, it's enamoured of. Only of, not with, not king, not duke.

As I Lay... superciliously judging
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 14, 2021 4:16 PM |
To have lain down - that's the past tense?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 14, 2021 4:24 PM |
Your just making this stuff up. What are you inferring?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 14, 2021 4:36 PM |
"Lay" is also "reclined."
"Laid" is "placed."
"Lied" is "told a falsehood."

R5, by using "your" instead of "you're" you are hereby banned from all discussions about grammar.

To lay is to fuck. To lie is to be a Republican.

It was intentional as was the incorrect use of "inferring", you silly git.

To get laid is something that never happens
to OP.

I want fentanyl. Or smack. Phenobarbital would be dreamy.
" Now I lay me down to sleep, with drugs in my veins, I peacefully sleep.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 14, 2021 8:17 PM |
That’s not true, OP. You lie.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 14, 2021 9:05 PM |
When I was a kid, if I said something like "I'm going to lay down," my grandmother would snap back "you are not a chicken," but she'd never explain what she meant. Sooo ... not particularly helpful.

It's extremely simple:
To lay is a transitive verb.
To lie is an intransitive verb.

R1 You are incorrect - confident, but incorrect.

I have lain down in bed to go to sleep every night this week. On Friday and Saturday, however, I lay down on Frank's bed, where he fucked me all night long, i.e., we both got laid. I laid my glasses and phone on his passenger-side nighttable as he laid his dong upon my face.
Next lesson, conjugate "suck" and "fuck."
