I decided to play her new album as I read the newspaper and it is lovely, but the first song, “Be Aware” really stuck out to me. I don’t know if it’s the lyrics or the arrangement or her voice, or all together, but it’s a wonderful song.
I also love “You Light Up My Life”.

I've never understood her appeal. While her voice is very pretty, there is never a single hint of emotion in it. It's like someone looking at a piece of sheet music and just singing it exactly as printed with zero soul. I get that she was a big deal at one point because of her ability to hold notes and hit the higher ones, but listening to that song that OP posted and I felt absolutely nothing which is saying something considering it was supposed to hit me in the feels. I guess. I don't know. You can just tell that she's lived such a privileged life that even she doesn't get what she is singing about.
