There have hardly been any developments in the alleged case against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL). But the lawyers he’s hired indicate that he’s not out of the woods.
[quote] ...the perceived lull is nothing outside the norm and can be chalked up to a number of factors—including a wide range of charges that investigators could be exploring. Although Gaetz and his allies like to interpret the lack of charges as an indication of innocence, the delays could just as easily suggest that the charges that could be coming down the pike are extremely grave and complex.
[quote] And if you were looking for an indication of just how seriously Gaetz himself is taking the prospect of charges, look no further than the high-powered team of attorneys the beleaguered Florida man has brought on for his defense.
[quote] That team features a trio of powerful litigators from New York City, well outside the bounds of the Middle District of Florida, where the Justice Department investigation is being handled.

imminent adjective
im·mi·nent | ˈi-mə-nənt
Definition of imminent: ready to take place : happening soon
—often used of something bad or dangerous seen as menacingly near imminent disaster
Example: Instead of saying "I'm gonna cum!", you can say "My orgasmic release is imminent!" (It's like a warning that something will happen VERY soon; so cover your eyes or feel the wrath of my jet stream of man juice.)

Joel Greenberg, the former Seminole County tax collector who pleaded guilty to six federal crimes in May, has asked a judge to delay his sentencing until March 2022 as he continues to cooperate with federal authorities.
Greenberg is currently slated to be sentenced Nov. 18. But in a newly filed motion, his attorney Fritz Scheller said that Greenberg’s cooperation with investigators, which was a condition of his plea deal “cannot be completed prior to the time of his sentencing.”
“The parties expect that Mr. Greenberg will participate in additional proffers, and a continuance would provide Mr. Greenberg with additional time to do so prior to his sentencing,” the motion states.

On Tuesday NBC News Correspondent for Investigations, Tom Winter, reported Greenberg "has asked to delay his sentencing citing his ongoing cooperation with investigators, court documents say, as the probe into whether or not Gaetz had sex with an underage girl continues."
Citing Greenberg's attorney, Fritz Scheller, Winter adds that "Greenberg has been cooperating with prosecutors through a series of proffers and that cooperation won't be done before his current sentencing date of November 18th. Prosecutors and Greenberg are asking for a sentencing date in March 2022."
"Prosecutors would not agree to this if he wasn't being helpful," Winter notes.
Former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance, now a University of Alabama Law School law professor and an MSNBC legal analyst who frequently appears on the network weighed in on the sentencing development, saying: "This is not good news for Matt Gaetz."

Well the gears of the justice system move slowly, but it was always sort of a liberal fantasy that the legal system would toss high-level Republican grifters in jail. The world doesn't work like that.
Gaetz is rich and connected. He'd have to fuck up MASSIVELY to go to jail. Trump is rich and connected. He's not going to jail. His kids aren't going to jail. Bannon isn't going to jail.
I wish online lefties would stop this wishcasting.

Here's an update on Joel Greenberg 12/28/21. Things are moving forward but remember Gaetz is the son of the richest, most powerful Republican in Florida. You can imagine what the prosecutors are up against. The feds will have to have an air tight case and that takes time.
More importantly, where IS Nestor? During a meltdown the Nestor story is revealed with sketchy/false details and then NO follow up from anyone, anytime.

The combination of orgies with underaged sex workers under the influence of illegal party drugs plus Greenberg's grossly corrupt abuse of public office plus Gaetz' foolish decision to shoot for a controversial, high profile political career mean this is not the sort of scandal that will just go away. Especially as Gaetz is the sort of reckless asshole who is going to keep fucking up again and again and again.

He’s accused of a little more serious shit than just “grifting.”

He's looking a lot like Jack Nicholson in The Shining at this point....will he go postal on us?

Remembering those simpler days long ago when we thought Gaetz was a closet case and a chicken hawk. Meanwhile, as others have pointed out, we are still waiting....

Taking longer to indict a sitting member of Congress?
Color me shocked.
I guess Nestor becomes Roger Stone's ward now.

by Anonymous | reply 177 | March 13, 2022 2:51 PM |
I've been hearing this shit that indictment is imminent for over a year. He has ties to Trump and therefore has corrupt friends in high places, nothing will happen to him.
