I'm going to say this only once…
MY VACCINATION STATUS IS NONE OF YOUR GODDAMNED BUSINESS.
I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but where in the hell do people get off asking what's your vaccination status? And HIPAA Privacy Rules confirm that it's none of you damned business. So what if I have Syph? So what if I like to bare back and caught herpes?! I love to raw dog that shit! So STOP fucking asking!!..

Fuck you R1!! It is a slippery slope. The constitution defends my right to bare back!!

Not a single person has asked, nor cares, about any status of yours, OP.

HIPAA does not mean that you cannot be asked about your health conditions and/or your treatment history for same. It signifies that those health professionals asking you about them cannot share your details or provided responses with others, unless they ask if you consent and you agree to.
You don't have to be vaxxed, you do have a right to freedom over your own body and decisions about it. But then so do other people and their own private homes and businesses, and so if they won't associate with or let you into your businesses because you didn't get jabbed, that's your rights overstepping their equally valid ones and, well, tough for you, because they have the right to deny your access to them.

I’m all for barebacking, too. No reason not to.

I’m vaccinated and think everyone should be, but I agree with the OP. My work is circulating a link to this app that they’re “asking” us to download and register in to “validate our vaccination status”.
It really does feel invasive and creepy. I know people are trying to do what’s best for everyone, but it is such a creepy, dangerous and slippery slope, and I haven’t yet decided if I’m gonna go to the wall with pushing back, and lose my job, or just submit and allow them to have record my health information.
I mean, I’ll show anyone my little vaccination card if I must, but I’m not going to start allowing people to put me in their traceable vaccine databases or anything.

I'm going to say this only once...
Get the vaccine. You do not want to go through Covid. My neighbor is currently suffering from Covid. He did not get vaccinated. It is awful. You do not want it, trust me.
We don't want to know whether you have been vaccinated, but your doctor does.

A lot of people get Covid and it barely registers. But R11 is right—no reason not to get the vaccine. And then you’re safe to bareback!

I don't think it is a slippery slope.
COVID doesn't come around every day. Vaccines are a safe and effective tool to limit the damage. Knowing who is safe and who is not - and it does boil down to that - will support the return to normal life and reward the good sense and community of those who have done the smart and right thing for themselves and those around them.
That our ability to respond as one, to unite in the interest of us rather than me, has been so broken that people's first instinct is the self, not the whole... even if we do bring COVID under control it's another sign how ruined we are. Divided was a couple years ago. We are ruined now. I am unsure we can get back to something decent.

If you want to visit a patient in the hospital in CA, you will be asked about your vaccine status as of tomorrow, Aug 11, and required to show proof of vaccination or a negative covid test within the last 72 hours. Otherwise you won’t be able to visit.
Furthermore, government agencies have the right to ask you and see proof, or covid testing, if you work for them or in a healthcare setting. It’s going to be the way of the future-more and more private companies are going to require it or twice weekly covid testing. And it’s about damn time.

I’m vaccinated and encourage others to do so as well, but I would never be so bold as to ask someone what their status is…nor do I proactively tell others.
Until mask mandates were recently reinstated, I would frequently go to places that had signs saying vaccinated people didn’t have to wear masks, but unvaccinated people did. I still wore a mask and one could’ve assumed I’m not vaccinate, but I just thought it’d be smart to be cautious.

Do I have the right to stab people? Why not? I mean, if they don't want to be stabbed, they can wear protective stab-proof clothing. It's not up to me to protect them when I feel it's my right to stab them. Freedom!

You're full of shit R13. Vaccinated peeps have just as high of a viral load as unvaccinated.
"CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said recent studies had shown that those vaccinated individuals who do become infected with Covid have just as much viral load as the unvaccinated, making it possible for them to spread the virus to others."
Good for you OP.

r18, you keep posting this bullshit everywhere as though it negates the value of vaccination. First of all, vaccinated people do not ACQUIRE COVID at nearly the same rate as the vaccinated. When they do acquire it, they almost never get as sick. Yes, when and if they do acquire COVID, they are just as infectious as the unvaccinated, which is the reason that we need to remain masked for the foreseeable future in indoor spaces, whether vaccinated or not. That is the ONLY conclusion of the article worth sharing.
Do you not understand, as businesses do, that when the vaccines are moved off of the "experimental" category, that businesses will become liable if people can verify that one of their loved ones became infected in a particular space or venue and later died? I'll break it down for you. 100 unvaccinated people walk into a bar. One of them is infected and spewing viral particles. At the current rate of transmission of delta variant. 88 of the people in that bar will become infected. Of those, 10 will be sick enough to need to be admitted to a hospital, and one or two will die. 100 vaccinated people walk into a bar. 1 has a nasal infection of COVID. 20 people in the bar become infected. None gets sick enough to be admitted to the hospital and no one dies. Add masks to the equation. Now, at most, 1 or 2 people in bar number 2 will get infected. In bar number 1, the people are anti-vaxx and anti-mask, so we can't add masks to the equation.

Honestly it defeats the purpose of not being identified as a vaxx person. That’s the whole point of tracking who is or who isn’t.
It just doesn’t makes sense to me.
This whole issue is a complete disaster as I had a feeling it would be.
