Just in.
Cuomo resigns
by Anonymous | reply 124 | August 11, 2021 7:24 PM |
Holy shit!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 10, 2021 4:10 PM |
You broke the news!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 10, 2021 4:11 PM |
Okay, fine, he resigned. Can someone now please go arrest Matt Gaetz?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 10, 2021 4:11 PM |
After the Ronan Farrow article, there was nothing else to do. Too many Democrats wanted him gone.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 10, 2021 4:12 PM |
Give him credit. His resignation speech is pretty impressive.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 10, 2021 4:13 PM |
And here comes the 18,000 threads about it because people are too fucking stupid to do a search.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 10, 2021 4:13 PM |
His COLLAPSE is COMPLETE!!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 10, 2021 4:13 PM |
R7 And then 400 posts complaining about the multiple threads.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 10, 2021 4:14 PM |
Trumpism continues. Follow some of the accusers to their new gigs on Fox, OAN, or Newsmax.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 10, 2021 4:14 PM |
As a matter of curiosity, when did the search function became reliable? Because historically it's a bit of a Rose.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 10, 2021 4:15 PM |
I'd still let him stick it in
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 10, 2021 4:15 PM |
He needs to shut up. So sanctimonious
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 10, 2021 4:15 PM |
He should be in jail, for the seniors who died under his mismanagement
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 10, 2021 4:16 PM |
To be fair, the search doesn't update quickly, so it'll take 5-10 minutes before threads start to show up in a search.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 10, 2021 4:16 PM |
Good. Maybe now the media will focus on Donald Trump trying to use the DOJ to overthrow the election.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 10, 2021 4:17 PM |
So New York will be getting it's first female governor? NYC has never had a female mayor?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 10, 2021 4:18 PM |
So what does this mean for Trump? Will there be some Repug put in Cuomo's place that will issue him a pardon?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 10, 2021 4:18 PM |
[quote] Effective in 14 days.
You mean it’s not “effective at noon tomorrow”?
That’s a letdown.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 10, 2021 4:18 PM |
R16 Or on a more positive note, that the most significant piece of bi-partisan legislation in many years was passed within the hour by the Senate. Too bad that's not the biggest new of the day.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 10, 2021 4:19 PM |
R19.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 10, 2021 4:19 PM |
I do wish he'd resigned earlier, if only because he was taking focus away from a lot of more important stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 10, 2021 4:19 PM |
That's fantastic news r20, thanks for mentioning it, I would have missed it otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 10, 2021 4:21 PM |
A lot of this sounds too similar to the 'creepy Joe' shit they tried to do to Biden.
They got what they wanted, I guess.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 10, 2021 4:23 PM |
Come on... that guy was ready to fight to last ditch. It means they got there. He was cornered and he knew it. And he knew why.
This is not a man worthy of the office.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 10, 2021 4:24 PM |
Sorry everyone - my link didn't take.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 10, 2021 4:25 PM |
I am happy, not that I give a shit about this either way but most people who don't live in NY don't care about this that much. It certainly doesn't deserve the amount of national news coverage it have gotten. The media being located in NYC seems to think that everything that happens in New York is more important that nearly everything else, it isn't.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 10, 2021 4:25 PM |
Another sex pest bites the political dust.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 10, 2021 4:26 PM |
I didn’t see this coming. I thought he would be Il Duce for as long as possible
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 10, 2021 4:27 PM |
Dear R27. I am sure that wherever you live is very nice and my best to Lady Elaine and Speedy the Mailman.
Fact is: as the location of one of the largest cities in North America and a center of related economic activity, what happens in New York State does, indeed, have a disproportionate amount of impact on the nation at large.
Tomorrow we will review your lesson on cows: the toy one is little; the ones outside are far away.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 10, 2021 4:28 PM |
Is Cuomo a homo?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 10, 2021 4:30 PM |
I am little surprised (probably shouldn't be) about neither New York State or NYC having women leaders before. I am a North Carolina native and we have had a female governor and the current mayor of Raleigh is a woman.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 10, 2021 4:32 PM |
Governor Hochul's first thing on the agenda is to rename the Mario Cuomo Bridge back to the Tappan Zee Bridge.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 10, 2021 4:32 PM |
I dunno, R31 - does Trump pump rump?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 10, 2021 4:33 PM |
Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.
We have now seen the madness, cue the destruction.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 10, 2021 4:34 PM |
I hear she's going to commemorate Cuomo's sex pest ways by renaming it the Tappan Dat Ass.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 10, 2021 4:34 PM |
#18 wins. Trump is behind this. He's down there in Mar-a-Lago plotting constantly, making calls.
A Repug will be hacked into office and pardon him.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 10, 2021 4:34 PM |
Hochul will be an awful cunt but the press will protect her.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 10, 2021 4:35 PM |
I disagree, because if Trump was responsible, Trump would be telling us all about it.

[quote] The media being located in NYC seems to think that everything that happens in New York is more important that nearly everything else, it isn't.
Agreed. It would be boon to re-uniting this country if the media scattered its HQs to other cities, like Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles.

by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 10, 2021 4:49 PM |
New York is only the fourth largest state by population.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 10, 2021 4:52 PM |
R30 must live in New York, I can tell by its sense of self importance.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 10, 2021 4:52 PM |
I'd bet money that jerk did this on purpose: resigning today to pull focus on the infrastructure vote. A dick in every respect.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 10, 2021 4:57 PM |
Why would he want to do that, r48? He's a Democrat.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 10, 2021 5:00 PM |
Because he's an egotistical asshole first and foremost, Rose. Have you been reading Chris Cuomo's biography of his brother?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 10, 2021 5:01 PM |
DeSantis is the governor who needs to resign.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 10, 2021 5:02 PM |
So this will get worse instead better, I bet, for both Cuomos. There is blood in the water now. I give CC 50-50 odds on his grip on CNN. People will start leaking.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 10, 2021 5:03 PM |
I hope against hope that CC doesn't get #metoo'ed but I bet R52 is right and he's next.

This calls for cake!

OK, R54 aka Sandra Lee, is this one of the reasons that the two of you split up? Tell us what you knew and when you knew it!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 10, 2021 5:15 PM |
Well don't call me, I got cancelled.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 10, 2021 5:18 PM |

His resignation statement was hilarious. Maybe his daddy used to tell him of a time it was okay to sexually assault women, but it's been frowned upon for a while now!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 10, 2021 6:09 PM |
Here's the NPR story.
Sounds like he felt New York was his oyster and that he could put his hands on everyone he found attractive. Apparently, he found lots of people attractive.
[quote] "I have been too familiar with people. My sense of humor can be insensitive and off-putting. I do hug and kiss people casually, women and men. I have done it all my life," Cuomo said. "In my mind, I've never crossed the line with anyone but I didn't realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn."
by Anonymous | reply 67 | August 10, 2021 6:11 PM |
R37 speaks the truth.
The Woke Brigade/Me Too/SJW made have won this battle, but they've definitely lost the war. Trump and the Republicans are laughing their asses off.
At this very moment, we have a murderous fascist ex-President plotting his comeback, and a Republican Party hell bent on nullifying any free election that isn't won by Republicans. We have Republican governors killing people left and right in the name of some vague "freedom" to not wear a mask or get a vaccination.
But for the SJWs. Job #1 is getting some overgrown frat boy with roving hands spayed and neutered.
Way to keep your eye on the ball.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | August 10, 2021 6:36 PM |
Trump should be in jail for the 600,000 + deaths he caused.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | August 10, 2021 6:56 PM |
FWIW: Kathy Hochul was very cool and down to earth one time I met her...at a fundraiser for an openly gay candidate (with his husband) hosted by/in the home of a gay married couple.
And then, there is also this:
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 10, 2021 7:01 PM |
Where's the fucking Trump investigation, Tish James??
We didn't put you in office to come after Democrats, you asshole!
by Anonymous | reply 72 | August 10, 2021 7:09 PM |
Because Democrats are low hanging fruit, R72. Democrats love self-flagellation, so they're easy targets and less work for bureaucratic drones like her.
Tish James knows the Republicans would laugh their asses off if she came after them, so she doesn't even bother.
She's a real profile in political courage, that one is.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | August 10, 2021 7:13 PM |
This was a political hit job manufactured by Republicans and carried out by Letitia James. She needs to be looked at to see who’s funding her.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | August 10, 2021 7:13 PM |
Wait’ll she throws her hat in the ring for Governor!
by Anonymous | reply 75 | August 10, 2021 7:27 PM |
She conveniently gave up on all the Trump investigations.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | August 10, 2021 7:29 PM |
R38- Why will she be an AWFUL cunt?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | August 10, 2021 7:47 PM |
Why dismiss as "SJWs" people who aren't willing to put up with assholic abuse and harassment anymore?
by Anonymous | reply 78 | August 10, 2021 7:51 PM |
Because they only go after Democratic politicians, R78, because they know Republican, pussy-grabbing politicians will laugh in their faces if they try any of their politically correct bullshit with them.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | August 10, 2021 7:56 PM |
So it's just "politically correct" to "go after" abusers and harassers?
Anyway, seems to me a fair number of Republicans have been taken down (e.g. Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes). The fact that more haven't isn't because anyone's afraid of being laughed at by those sleazebags.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | August 10, 2021 8:06 PM |
It certainly does seem like it R76.
It’s really disheartening. Corruption and the instinct to CYOA (cover your own ass) leaves me disgusted.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | August 10, 2021 8:06 PM |
And, yet R64, North Carolina still had a woman Governor before New York. New Yorkers are the ones arrogantly looking down on all southern voters. Btw, Marjorie T.G. is from Georgia.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | August 10, 2021 8:14 PM |
Just an FYI, R80: Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes were not elected politicians. They were employees who ran afoul of their company's sexual harassment policies.

[quote]Because they only go after Democratic politicians, [R78], because they know Republican, pussy-grabbing politicians will laugh in their faces if they try any of their politically correct bullshit with them.
Who is "they?" Didn't "they" also go after Ailes and O'Reilly, as well as Kavanagh and Trump? The problem isn't who "they" go after, it with who receives consequences and who escapes, and THAT has to do with the difference in values and beliefs about sexual harassment and assault between the two parties and their bases, and not the people making the accusations. These are two different things that can't be rolled into one big "they."

Liberal, socialist, progressive left democrats in NYS wanted Cuomo gone before end of year for very good reasons.
First and foremost 2022 is statewide election year and if impeachment didn't remove Cuomo (not likely, but you never know...), he just may have run for a fourth term. That couldn't be allowed to happen as it would force other democrats considering running for governor to face off against an incumbent Cuomo. He may have been weakened, but depending upon how things played out over next 18 months or so may still have had enough of a following to win.
Now progressive, left, liberal democrats have their wish, an open NYS governor's. Last time this happened was when Patterson ran for that office after serving out most of Elliot Spitzer's term who was removed for consorting with prostitutes. Ironically Patterson lost to Andrew Cuomo who now himself has been removed.

I just discovered today that the New York State impeachment process is different from the Federal.
If Cuomo had been impeached by the NYS legislature he would immediately have been removed from office.
Then, if the NYS Senate failed to convict in a subsequent trial he'd be returned to office.

What happens to Chris?
by Anonymous | reply 103 | August 11, 2021 12:43 AM |

AC had no cover, so he simply had to resign, or again as it has been stated repeatedly face impeachment and most surely be convicted.
Also as has been stated again and again about AC, he overstayed his welcome in Albany, and overplayed his hand. Gathering up for himself over course of three terms quite a lot of power for what is constitutionally one of the most weakest governors in nation. Much of this occurred after Joe Bruno, Sheldon Silver and few other top dogs in Albany were convicted of various charges.
Famous "three men in a room" became just the one; Andrew Cuomo. He was also the only white man in power staring down a black head of state assembly and senate. Both of the latter are heck bent on "progressive, liberal, left, democrat" policies. In short using Albany to address what they feel are decades of wrongs perpetuated against African Americans and other brown or coffee colored persons.
AC gave NYS gay marriage, legal surrogacy, but had to be dragged into bail reform, decriminalizing pot and a few other bits.
With super majorities in both houses of legislature leaders of state senate and assembly have big plans to push things through before elections in 2022. Cuomo put the brakes on some of it, so this scandal was just what they needed to get rid of him.
Fun starts in a few weeks when Cuomo is gone and Lt. Governor takes his place. That is for the remaining 15 months or so will democrats in Albany have any more success than previous three years.
State republicans in Albany most surely would have voted against Cuomo in any impeachment proceedings for exact reasons noted above. Gay marriage, surrogacy, bail reform, giving illegal immigrants drivers licenses and all sorts of state rights, tax increases, and a very long list of other Cuomo accomplishments ticked state republicans off. Watching Cuomo's tenure end in a slow motion train wreck was about the best bit of schadenfreude could request.
