I get the impression that he doesn't do much with either sex. He seems strangely asexual. He reminds me of Greta Garbo in that way. Her sexuality is being speculated on to this day. I'll give you that Keanu looked stunning with a few different looks and in a few different eras - Point Break, Speed and 1st Matrix being top examples.

Johnny Depp only looked good in the 80s and early 90s. Brad Pitt only looked good in the 90s and early 2000s and got back to looking good in the late 2010s. Keanu consistently looked good from the 80s to the 2000s. All of them have issues with hygiene, shaving their patchy beards and cutting their grody hair. I think that at least helps dispels a lot of the gay speculation.

Brad Pitt looks like he has herpes. Reeves has an innate reserve and class that shines through. Depp looks like the southern fried boy he is at heart, quirky and volatile.

It's interesting to me that neither Keanu nor any of the women he's alleged to have dated have ever spoken of, or simply acknowledged being in a relationship. For example, a poster upthread says "he dated a friend of mine" but none of these women are talking. I think it's important to point out that Keanu's mother was a costume designer who even designed Dolly Parton's, Playboy Bunny (cover) outfit. I'm sure he's mentioned a few other famous people of the time who were around. Keanu's stepfather Paul Aaron, who was a Broadway director and directed movies of the week, didn't stay married to his mother for long but they both stayed in contact. He hired him as a PA and helped him get his green card to come to the US. In other words: he had some help and some exposure to the industry.

Rob Lowe's father helped hook him up with his first representation. I wouldn't say his attempts at being a leading man failed, as much as he crashed and burned his own career. Who knows where he would have been if not for that tape.

Since the 1980s. I feel they pushed this overly hypermasculine and dumb image onto male stars to be less threatening.
