I don't condone this, but I would imagine there was probably a vaccination requirement, which mitigates the problem to some degree. Stores may say officially that masks are required unless you're vaccinated while knowing that anti-vaxxers will just lie--but most people who are friendly with Obama would likely abide by such an agreement, unlike randos at Home Depot.
