I agree with R98. Zac appears to have OCD/dysmorphia - the body was obsessed over and the face and the face is looking like Frankenstein. No harmony. A collage of procedures, knives and plastic. Hugh Grant for example was apparently fine with his mostly female fans and heartthrob status and wisely stayed in comedy instead of trying to cross over into action films or whatever. But he was also older when he had his big break and apparently confident enough to do what he did best.

Other young actors might also have changed up their image since their teenage years, but focused more on interesting roles and quirky projects instead of trying to necessarily chase an image of masculinity (e.g. Heath Ledger, Daniel Radcliffe). I also think it's a disservice to the male audience to assume they all just want steroid pumped super macho guys - like R188 said, Tom Hanks is well respected among male film fans and he was never macho. Others with a large male following might have played roles that certainly appeal to a male audience, but aren't exactly square-jawed gym rats (e.g. Michael Fassbender or Joaquin Phoenix).
