"Preppy" haircuts really do make you look thinner

If a man grows out his crown a la Bernie Sanders, it accentuates his chin fat.

Having said that, don't shave your crown too close - does the same thing.

The only thing that works is the old fashioned preppy cut.

You can be nearly obese and that cut will hide it.

That is a wiglet…a dusty and thirsty one at that.

Do you think, r1? I'm a colorist and I see no obvious tells except he clearly has a basic rinse.

I don't know; I still see a fat face.

Yes, it sits atop his scalp. If you look closely at where his hair is supposed to meet his scalp, there is no discernible attachment. I can’t “take credit” for it. Someone @ JoeMyGod mentioned it. I was embarrassed I had never noticed it. I am usually better at spying decrepit rugs.

These floofy styles with the hair brushed to the side are a reliable way for men to cover a receding hairline and thinning on the top. I know because I have changed my hairstyle for that reason. No more brushing forward and up as in years gone by.

I think this transitional adult/middle aged hairstyle is how men end up with embarrassing combovers without realizing how bad they look. At one point, with fuller hair, the fluffy combover is effective at making hair look full. And then, poof, one day you've got only three whisps brushed from one ear to the other!

Wiglets are the bee’s knees, OP.

I ordered a bunch of wigs from Amazon, and they’re so easy. Not spending an hour styling my hair is so freeing.

I love ‘em.

Also, Tucker can’t tuck in his chin, because he doesn’t have one.

Not really a "preppy" hairstyle per se as much as an overgrown traditional men's haircut

Carlson has (had?) very thick slightly wavy hair so he could pull off the slightly messy look--someone with curlier or straighter hair could not, at least not without a lot of Product.

Why is one eye higher than the other?

by Anonymousreply 9August 7, 2021 5:03 PM

His Ted Koppel hairstyle is ugly and unkempt looking, not to mention that it looks like something a jock in his 20s would sport in a 1980s sex comedy.

Why would you even suggest that Tucker Carlson is some sort of trend setter or someone with good style? He's unattractive and schlumpy with the same rat's-nest approach to hair as Donald Trump and Boris Johnson.

He looks like an idiot.
