I stumbled upon an account on Pinterest in the name of BB pinterest.com/barnes6826 sharing "home ideas" with a Peyton List account, followed by a Triciia B (who loves flowers). I have seen similar blue paint in BB home like the ones pinned - though now I've lost the tweet that showed it.

Most items were pinned in 2018, the last one is from May 2020 as you can see from the feed account pinterest.com/barnes6826/feed.rss.

It was a bit too easy to find. I cannot totally believe these are real, and that they wouldn't use some kind of alias! But, if it was... Setting up home together: that was a serious relationship. They made a beautiful couple, pity it fizzled out.

Or for trips; I paid for the Tahoe house, you send me your portion. Or to pay dog walkers, babysitters, guitar teachers, hairdressers, etc. When I buy or sell on Craigslist, FB Marketplace, etc, we use Venmo. Even vendors at the farmers market now accept Venmo. It’s just a cashless way to conduct transactions.

R312 If you read the books the first 1-3 are actually the worst ones haha so I think the combination of the first 3 (the Grishaverse trilogy) with 4-5 (the six of crows duology) actually improved on the original story and they haven’t even gotten into the fan favorite content yet because it was essentially an original content prequel written by the show writers (including Leigh) for half the characters. If you are interested in reading the books, the first 3 are still good and a necessary read for the later ones, but even Leigh admits her writing and ideas improved after those. Since there was so much character/world development to cover in the first season I can see why some people might have been bored with it, but knowing that there’s a lot more interesting action and characters to come from the source material plus Eric’s work on it plus a bigger budget makes me optimistic. Also since the first 3 books were unfortunately written from Alina’s perspective the whole story of the Darkling is essentially unwritten except for the snippets you see from Alina, and since Eric hand selected Ben for this role following his wife’s experience with him on the Punisher and then convinced Ben that it’s a much bigger part than the books so he would take it, I think Eric knows what he has with Ben and will use him to the fullest extent lol.

R319 This is actually really interesting and gives me hope for ben's character being more fleshed out and interesting next season. I hope we are not stuck with the nose wrinkling and teary eyes for another bloody 8 episodes. He can do so much better than that. It's like ever since he learned how to make his eyes well up on command he uses it every chance he gets.

I thought that particular "trick" was much better utilized when he played Billy Russo. He only did it in scenes where it made you question his humanity (remembering back to the famous eye-gauging scene in season one where he watched frank murder Rawlins with almost sexual perversion). That was truly his best performance. Season 1 Billy almost makes me forgive the scenery chewing mess that was season 2.

Yeah I think they tried to make the Darkling more ambiguous and redeemable in the first season which is why there was more opportunity for the soft tears, but even the little bits we get in the books it gets dark and irredeemable pretty quickly and if anything I think they did that in the 1st season to increase the shock value when it subverts that, so I think/hope Ben will be able to do more with that. Luckily TV-14 has a little more room than PG-13 movies for the “good” stuff, but It’s also not unheard of in TV to switch between TV-14 and MA when necessary (Breaking Bad is the first one that comes to mind that did that but there are others) and streaming companies are more flexible with that than broadcast.

And it did so because it isn't intended as a "young adult" story. It was probably intended as competition/succession to GoT, again with good reason. Your point seems to be that teenagers are going to teenager and watch whatever they want because it's streaming and you don't have to show id. Which is completely true. But my point is, there's a difference between not being able to control what teenagers sneak and do cause you're not their parents, and purposefully intending and including legally adult material in something that is close to intended for legally children. S&B didn't start out with adulty TVMA content for a reason. It knows who/what its audience is expected to be. To suddenly switch over even knowing what its audience already is. . . there may not literally be legal issues, I don't know, but "moral" issues certainly could be raised over intent.

So it's a cost/benefit analysis. How much backlash would they get from the save the children hashtag front, vs. how many more new eyes would they get from adults that would have to get through a teen friendly first season before they got to adult stuff in the second. And would a new rating cause them to lose teenaged eyes whose parents actually can control what they do and don't.

Personally I don't see that risk being worth it for them, but of course we'll see. At least we know Ben will have no qualms whatsoever with taking that "risk." He might "regret" not exposing teenagers to his adult side after all. He can make a new Insta story about it to convince every one.

Yes these books are technically considered YA, but they didn’t make it to the NYT bestseller lists due to only appealing to teenagers, adults like myself have read and enjoyed them too especially since the show was announced, and the teenagers who read them when they first came out (probably their most loyal fan base) are adults now. Although they aged the characters up for the show they are still17+ in the books, so not really children. The crows are a gang of violent criminals known for their knife assassin and gun slinging skills and the grisha are violent in their own ways, with the main weapon of the Darkling and Alina literally being the ability to cut people (like whole armies) and things in half. And everyone is at war with each other. The main theme of one major story line later is all about a highly addictive drug with some pretty gruesome effects and all the violence that comes with most drug stories. Sex isn’t always talked about in 50 shades of gray detail so I guess it depends on your imagination but in my mind the books could very easily be MA if they were directly adapted, not to mention the artistic license a well known and respected show runner like Eric would be trusted to take. It’s not like they are taking an actual children’s book and turning it into an orgy blood bath for the hell of it, now that would obviously be controversial. I’m not even saying this show needs to be MA to be good that’s just what other people have implied, but it definitely would not be a stretch to make this story MA if they decided they wanted to since to topics covered are very much MA depending on what details they decide to highlight with the drugs, sex, and violence.

Plus all the human/sex trafficking and prostitution that is a theme throughout but was already mentioned in the first season, even if it hasn’t been physically seen yet. It’s YA because of the age of the characters but if books had ratings these would definitely lean more towards MA/R

What I'm basing my thoughts on is the summary descriptions from all the marketing write-ups/interviews I've read since (that's all I've read regarding the books). They constantly described the source material as a popular YA novel series and I took them at their word. And it seems like what we're actually nitpickily debating here is the level of subtlety/explicitness. These definitely aren't children's books, especially for all the subject matters you list, we all agree on that. But IMO the difference between young adult and adult books (or a TV-14 vs. TV-MA rating) is how explicit they are. Both categories have adult in them, but the former is required to be more subtle in its descriptions of "adult material." R330 mentioned it depended on your level of imagination. Again, I haven't read the books to know just how explicit or not their descriptions of adult material are, but if they do leave anything to the imagination, then yes, I would consider them young adult.

To sum up, Young Adult should be a careful, subtle "introduction" into the horrors/euphorias of full adulthood, cause they're gonna find out soon enough. Full adults no longer need a mere introduction. We already know, we're good for explicitly full indulgence.

I've been meaning to share this. I check a website that tracks the amount of followers Ben gets on Instagram each day. Over the past 7 months I've only seen Ben lose followers twice. (Him never losing followers is one of the main reasons I believe he's buying them, but that's different topic.) The first drop being on July 15 (the day he posted that duet with Lizzy filmed at his home) and the second being August 10. August 10 is the day that JH posted the IG story wearing the 11:11 necklace. Coincidence? Maybe. I don't think Ben posted anything that day to warrant losing 400 followers though (plus he lost the amount he gained that day which is usually around 1,000-2,000 followers a day). So I found the timing of that drop VERY interesting.

I’m glad he finally went public with his mom’s cancer story. I’m fairly certain whoever that was that was accusing us of doxing Ben is someone who knows him based on their previous post history, and I don’t blame him and his friends for being worried about that especially when he has such a crazy fan base. He might be getting more successful but I doubt he has the type of money yet than can afford making his house into a secure compound or buying private security like Bieber and Rpatz have had to do. So it would be smart of him to back off interaction with a single fan vs interacting with the fan pages. Besides law enforcement, one of the use cases of the facial recognition software my company makes that has gotten the a lot of interest in recent years is for celebrities, politicians, and other public figures to be able to recognize and track when people of interest are in their vicinity especially ones that are a known or suspected threat. One of the publicly knows uses lately was Taylor Swift using it at her concerts to monitor attendees and weed out people know are known stalkers, have sent death threats to her, etc. I’m not necessarily referring to Ben and Cindy specifically, but this is a very real problem that’s being made worse by social media where a fan who has built up a parasocial relationship with a public figure can interpret a single positive interaction on social media or a hug at a comiccon as a signal the celeb might be reciprocating that relationship and either more aggressively pursue interactions with that celeb or consider themselves to be of a higher status to other fans which has lead to online and offline conflicts.
