I was watching a thoroughly lame new movie with Shawn Ashmore & Ashley Greene called Aftermath…However (!) it positively lit up in a short scene when Ashley’s twitchy neurotic mother joined them for dinner and went from “new age” to “screaming loon” in 90 seconds. I had to look her up on IMDb as I often do—Susan Walters—and I wasn’t surprised to learn she’s a soap vet (stint on Y&R) was also on Melrose Place for 7 episodes in 1998 but shocker: she was the infamous Dolores/Clitoris in Seinfeld. I love that episode but have absolutely no memory of her physical appearance. I find that with the exception of Teri Hatcher, it’s almost always like that for me with the dozens of “Jerry’s girlfriend” actresses: whenever I watch a rerun today, I’m generally amazed to realize the actress was someone I know…I think part of it was the typical sitcom format filming style (no closeups) and part of it is the girls were all just devices for a gag. Even now I can barely think of actresses who did an episode…but I know there were many. Can you remember any?
Mulva?

isn't it CLIToris?

SPOILERS
I just saw this yesterday and it was pretty bad. The acting between the couple was bizarre just with never ending sarcastic remarks and one-upmanship dialogue between them.
The tired trope that the wife is experiencing odd things happening in the house and the husband just shrugs it off as "oh my crazy wife is just a lying psycho bitch."
The scene with the mom was random and didn't add anything to the story. Just a 3 min scene to show she's a cunt with a snobby view of Chinese food and to mention her new "lover."
The wife's sister goes missing in the house, and not once does the wife try to contact the sister. I know she was mad at her, but siblings would usually call even if it is just to ask wtf happened the other night.
White supremacist teenagers that show up for 5 secs vandalizing the house and that are never heard from again.
Random use of a fish eye lens that would distort the scene.
It was basically the plot of "The Boy." I might have zoned out of boredom, I never understood exactly why the villain was where he was, as they show them as normal earlier on.
The writing is just plain awful.

CLIToris is correct. Doesn't sound anything like Delores. Mulva made more sense!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 6, 2021 10:22 PM |
Susan Walters! Or, as I know her better, Mrs. Linden Ashby (Johnny Cage).
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 6, 2021 10:40 PM |
Delores wasn't the original name in the script.
Jerry's girlfriend in "The Soup Nazi" is now married to George Stephanopoulos.

Kristin Davis & Jane Leeves were jerry’s girlfriends

Brenda Strong (the "Desperate Housewives" narrator) was Sue Ellen Mischke, the Oh, Henry! candy bar heiress Jerry lusted after.
Wendie Malick was Elaine's friend the chiropractor with the outdated hairstyle whom Kramer dated. Carol Leifer stole the episode as her receptionist.

I remember her from Dear John. Here's an episode with Megan Mullally.

We needed this Mulva Research Center to look into the matter.

Jennifer Coolidge was Jerry's girlfriend that didn't do a 'forcible massage'.

R14 That was Jennifer Coolidge?! Amazing. I remember that episode but recall nothing about the actress.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 7, 2021 3:55 AM |
Mulva was on Loving or Ryan's Hope in the 80's
Jennifer Coolidge is unrecognizable as the gf who "won't submit to forceable massage!" She's much thinner, younger and uses a much more normal speaking voice than she does in all her later roles.

Susan Walters was a great spoiled, young, rich bitch on Loving as Lorna Forbes. Kind of a Fallon Carrington type.
According to that old former “Hollywood insider” queen who used to post here, she was almost cast as Shelby in Steel Magnolias.

Ali Wentworth was the "schmoopie" girlfriend that was so annoying that Jerry chose soup over her.

Walters was Priscilla to Dale Midkiff's Elvis in Elvis & Me.

Anna Gunn aka Skyler on Breaking Bad played the girlfriend of Jerry’s that George thought he saw kissing Jerry’s Cousin Jeffery from the Parks Dept. …. Lisa Edelstein played one of George’s early girlfriends with the Risotto.

I feel full after the risotto.

r11 I loved Carol Liefer as the receptionist "She. Is. Super!" in that cheery voice Lol.

Catherine keener played the spoiled rich girl painter who makes George buy a painting

Don't forget Karen from Will and Grace was George's girlfriend with a partial hearing loss whose aunt died and George double dipped his chip at the post-funeral festivities.
Like Jennifer Coolidge, a different voice and look made her unrecognizable.

Courtney Cox in one of my least favorite episodes where she and Jerry pretend to be married to get a discount on dry cleaning …. OH - Ben Stiller’s ex Christine Taylor played the girl who went on a first date with Jerry even though it was her birthday - in his eyes that made her a loser……. Mariska Hargitay - doing sort off a riff of her mom Jayne - played an actress auditioning for the role of Elaine in the sitcom Seinfeld.

Were any of Jerry's girlfriends mentioned above the one with the talking bellybutton?

Man Hands was DL fave Kristin Bauer von Straten, the fabulously acid tongued Pam from True Blood.

r27, I worked at an event Christine Taylor threw and she was the sweetest, most lovely person. I worked with a lot of celebrities and they usually don't impress me, but I did want to bombard her with questions about The Brady Bunch Movie and her two episode stint on Ellen, where she played Karen (pronounced Car in.) I wanted to know if Ellen and Jeremy Piven were disgusting then...we certainly know they are today.

Christine Taylor/Karen starts at about 4:08 in this clip.

I watched Aftermath tonight. It was completely disposable entertainment but diverting for a few very cheap thrills.
R5 is incorrect about a few points in the movie. The neo-nazi kids are no such thing. They are there to vandalize the house because the husband of the seller was trying to unravel the sale, by falsely publishing nazi manifestos using the house’s address.
And the female protagonist did try to contact her sister (played by Britt Baron from “GLOW” btw). But she stopped when her sister (who was very irresponsible) texted her back to say she needed to go away for a while. But it wasn’t her sister who texted her back.

By the way, I forgot to mention that Sacha Chaban did a great service to this movie by writing an asskicking main title.

Marcia Cross played Dr. Sara Sitarides, dermatologist and brief girlfriend of Jerry's.
But I still call her "Pimple-Popper, M.D."

Janeane Garofalo ("Reality Bites") was Jerry's girlfriend whose personality reminded him of himself.
Tracy Nelson ("Square Pegs," "The Father Dowling Mysteries") played George's girlfriend who reminded him physically of Jerry.

Linden was also on Y&R. Side note: Susan and Linden are BFF's with Christian LeBlanc (also Y&R) and his husband. They've got a Southern roots connection.
