Why does Google keep fucking their site up?
Has anyone noticed lately how Google’s home page (on mobile viewing anyway) now has pictures and latest stories right underneath the search box? It looks ugly and stupid. It looked so much better when it was just the word “Google” and the search box underneath. I also hate how as soon as you put your cursor in the search box, a shit load of latest trending stories appear. To top it off, when your search results come up, it’s a cluttered mess because they keep trying to force other suggestions in the middle of the page you’re scrolling and at the bottom of the page as well.
Why can’t they just leave stuff the fuck alone?! It’s a cluttered confusing mess now!

well they have to be HIP and TRENDY to stay relevant, or to put it bluntly, you are old and they don't care what you think.

Google has Friday Meetings of about 500 of the top employees to discuss how to "innovate" the site, OP.
They enact all the superficial suggestions for a bit, in order to replace promotions, as in "You, yes, YOU have been RECOGNIZED!!!"
The accountants are very happy with this arrangement.

This is what I have LONG hated about Google.
Many times when you search for historical figures, the accompanying image on the front page is obviously wrong.
Here is a recent example I've come across -- this is the result for a king of Iran who reigned from 1750-1796.
I have noticed this quirk for YEARS and I'm shocked they've never fixed it.

R3 Exactly! I’ve also seen so many examples of wrong images coming up with what or who you’re searching for. Just one of their many messes.
It was so much better 10 years ago when it had a cleaner layout.

I've been having an issue lately where i'll type something in the search bar at the top of the browser, hit return and nothing happens. I then have to type in google.com, which finally loads and retype what I was searching for results to come up.

r6 Out of curiosity, are you using Firefox? I've been having that same problem, but only when I use that browser.

Why can’t the idiots at Google know when enough is enough? The site is becoming messy and cluttered.

I use firefox and only see the search box and one small line of text underneath. I use uBlock Origin and it strips a lot of unnecessary shit out. Try it.

R7, I've been using Google Chrome, which really has no excuse to be doing what's it doing.
