She is the only pop star who sounds completely different on every song. I literally mistook most of her singles as different singers. I didn't know "Let's Get Loud" or "Play" were her. I thought "I'm Real" was Ashanti. "Waiting For Tonight" sounds exactly like the original Eurodance song sung by a different group. Her team was revealed to keep all of the original singing on the demo tapes and slicing it with J. Lo's talk-singing.

Like Justin Timberlake, J. Lo just basically relied on African-American producers and got the songs rejected by higher profile pop and R&B artists. She simply filled a niche for the Latino American market (though most her airplay was on Black stations) and had a media push. Though Timberlake at least could sing his music and actually had knowledge and respect for hip-hop culture. J. Lo is bougie to the core, so her acting hood and street is just as laughable as when Beyoncé does.

If You Had My Love was a good song and she looked beautiful in the video. She does good with Latin style dance pop or lite R&B. Her attempts at hip-hop and ballads are pretty awful.

She's not that revered in the Latino community nor that popular in Spanish-speaking countries at all. She is extremely American and didn't grow up speaking Spanish. NYRicans were actually one of the most assimilationist immigrant groups in The US. Her beauty is more appealing to mainstream American audiences. It was Black men and white American men who wanted to fuck her and put her on. I don't think someone who looked like J. Lo would even be put on Latin American TV especially since the beauty standards are very Eurocentric to the point that blonde hair and blue eyes are preferable.
