I didn't know.....

I like him. Everyone is living way too long, by the way. I would have expected by now there would be a weekly roundup of dead stars.

by Anonymousreply 1August 2, 2021 8:01 PM

super duper conservative. I'm surprised he lives in such a liberal state

by Anonymousreply 2August 2, 2021 8:02 PM

I could have sworn he'd died a few years ago

by Anonymousreply 3August 2, 2021 8:12 PM

The best older Lex Luthor ever!!!

by Anonymousreply 4August 2, 2021 9:54 PM

I heard he'd taken to novel-writing in his retirement.

by Anonymousreply 5August 2, 2021 9:56 PM

I’ve been wondering about him for a long time because he truly disappeared. I assumed he had dementia or was very sick. Glad he’s still alive.

by Anonymousreply 6August 2, 2021 9:57 PM

Looks like he had an eye lift.

by Anonymousreply 7August 2, 2021 10:01 PM

We'd better make The French Connection III real soon.

[quote] I assumed he had dementia

Someone upthread said he’s super duper conservative, which amounts to the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 9August 2, 2021 10:07 PM

He's lost his looks.

by Anonymousreply 10August 2, 2021 10:08 PM

He's 91, R10.

by Anonymousreply 11August 3, 2021 12:48 AM

R11 Point?

He’s not a conservative ffs.

From wiki: “Hackman is a supporter of the Democratic Party, and was proud to be included on Nixon's Enemies List. However, he has spoken fondly of Republican president Ronald Reagan.”

The claim of him supporting Dump is marked false on Snopes.

He and Stella are the last of the Poseidon Adventure stars (stars, not cast).

by Anonymousreply 15August 3, 2021 1:21 AM

r15 And Stella is in a diaper :( But we’ll always have Carol Lynley.

by Anonymousreply 16August 3, 2021 1:28 AM

I want a new pic of Tuesday Weld!

by Anonymousreply 17August 3, 2021 1:28 AM

Carol Lynley is dead, too, R16.

by Anonymousreply 18August 3, 2021 1:44 AM

Pamela Sue and Eric Shea made the poster. I’d say that makes them stars, so four.

by Anonymousreply 19August 3, 2021 1:49 AM

Totally off topic, but I once visited an imagineering studio, and the owner had Carol Lynley's Poseidon Adventure costume in his private collection. I got to touch it!

by Anonymousreply 20August 3, 2021 1:50 AM

Hackman. The best.

by Anonymousreply 21August 3, 2021 1:52 AM

One of my favorite actors. I watched the French Connection again a few days ago.

Fag!

R2 It's has its population of conservatives but its not quite like Arizona or Texas. It also attracts artists and hippies, who give the place a bit of a different vibe. More purple than red. Beautiful place in any case.

by Anonymousreply 24August 3, 2021 1:56 AM

R2 I just re-read your comment and I'm quite embarrassed. For some reason I read it as NM being conservative. I will take reading comprehension classes immediately.

by Anonymousreply 25August 3, 2021 1:59 AM

I thought that was Lee Strasberg.

by Anonymousreply 26August 3, 2021 2:00 AM

Oh, Matt! I am SO telling your daughter what you said. You cunt.

by Anonymousreply 27August 3, 2021 2:00 AM

Has New Mexico become the retirement home for hollywood actors? Val Kimer lives there too. Maybe they can visit each other playing pokers or have Sunday brunch, they most likely live around Santa Fe/Taos.

by Anonymousreply 28August 3, 2021 2:00 AM

R28 It sort of has. Shirley MacLaine did have a ranch near Santa Fe, but IIRC she was trying to sell a few years ago. I saw Val Kilmer in Taos about 15 years ago. A friend who worked at Taos Ski Valley in the mid 90s mentioned encountering Hackman a few times. She said he was super nice.

by Anonymousreply 29August 3, 2021 2:07 AM

They wheeled out James Cagney for a couple of roles toward the end of his life, they should do the same for Gene Hackman.
