Don't apply for a Genesis credit card!

aka Indigo

I was applying to see what kind of credit limit they would grant me and without me approving of the offer ($300) it said your card is in the mail.

I immediately called to cancel it and they said call back in two days.

I called back in two days and they cancelled it, but said it would be on my credit report as a closed account.

I got the card in the mail just a few days later and chopped it up.

Today I received a letter from a collection agency saying I owe $75 (the yearly maintenance fee).

I've been getting ads for Indigo in my emails, pretty much every day for the past two months.

Where are they located? Russia? China?

It says Beaverton, Oregon. I hope it's not an Indian reservation business- I don't want to hate them.

You applied for a credit card and they approved you. That's kind of how it works. You don't have to accept anything, you applied for it. People today are financially ridiculous. Next thing you know people will be giving their bank account username and password to just anyone who asks...oh, wait. Fucking idiots.

"You applied for a credit card and they approved you."

No. An applicant has to be able to approve their offer. With a 'yes' or 'proceed' or 'I confirm', etc.

I entered the last info they were requesting (birth date?) and it said "your card will arrive within 14 days". This is fraud.

Says who? Why do you think this?
