Do you eat the fat on meat?
I used to be grossed out by fat when I was a kid.
Then I tried a ribeye steak where the meat was completely blended with the fat. I tried it, and it just melted in my mouth.
Now I'll not only eat the fat on a steak, but I love the crispy skin on fried chicken, and also crispy pork belly.
I'm hooked!

Pigs. You’re not supposed to eat exposed fat. Why doesn’t you just paste in on your thigh, insert into your great vessels?

R3 Even though I am in my late 50's are don't exercise I have great thighs and a great body. Plus great blood work.
Genes I suppose. I love eating fat, though I barely eat sugar/carbs - they are the no. 1 evil food sources.

When I could still eat meat I'd absolutely eat the fat on a steak, but it had to be cooked to a certain consistency. It had to be piping hot. If it had cooled even slightly I wouldn't touch it.

Oh, fuck no. Few things re more disgusting than big chunks of fat on meat.
Spare the the fat, the skin, the bones, the gristly bits.

I seek fat out at the meat counter, I always take the meat with the biggest fat cap and best marbling. Unfortunately, most supermarkets trim their meats to be as lean as possible, and they're usually barely Choice grade. I much prefer my local butcher shop where I can get better quality meat trimmed with larger fat caps. Or sometimes I get a primal like a whole untrimmed sirloin and trim it, slice it up myself.

Man, I'd LOVE to get a few pics of your larger fat caps!

Yes. But fat is not all the same.
Also I love bone marrow but in small quantities. Nalli nihari and a la moelle - magic words. Need good wine!

Fat for me, though more out of Pagan sentiment than actually loving the taste.
And I agree that meat tastes ten times better cooked in the fat left on. People who trim it all off when it’s raw know nothing about cuisine.

My grandfather always ate the fat on pork and steak, and he lived to be 92.
But he also ate a lot of fish, too. So that might have something to do with his longevity.

Bacon grease is better than any other fat on the planet.
Oh, and if you're eating bacon, then you're eating fat too. FYI.
