Found it! On EW. Ballots went out Oct. 12 to Screen Actors Guild members to choose between ’70s TV staples Valerie Harper and Melissa Gilbert for union president. While the winner won’t be announced till Nov. 5, we asked some voters to weigh in.
CHRIS TUCKER ”The Little House on the Prairie girl because I liked that show.”
DAVID HASSELHOFF ”Melissa would be tough and Valerie would have the attitude, but neither can compete with the current president — my Knight Rider partner, William Daniels.”
ILLEANA DOUGLAS (Ghost World) ”I’d have to go with Rhoda. Valerie Harper’s a dancer, so she must have discipline.”
AMANDA BYNES (The Amanda Show) ”I’d go with Rhoda. Little House was so cliche and my dad used to make me read the books, so I’m a little bitter toward that whole show.”
MELISSA JOAN HART (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) ”Melissa Gilbert because Little House was more my generation — we all watched and wore our hair in braids.”
DANA DELANY (Pasadena) ”Rhoda would be the scrapper. And didn’t Valerie once play a mayor on TV? She already has some political experience.”
BRECKIN MEYER (Inside Schwartz) ”I’m a Laura Ingalls kind of guy and always have been. She’s naughty.”
CUBA GOODING JR. ”Valerie Harper. And if Rhoda wins, she might make us some waffles.”
MING-NA (ER) ”Melissa Gilbert. On Little House she was always so moral, had strong opinions, and believed in herself.”
GABRIELLE UNION (Bring It On) ”We need a Celebrity Death Match, but I’d give the edge to Valerie Harper.”
MARY-KATE OLSEN ”Ashley and I are child stars, so I like that Melissa Gilbert is representing kid actors.”
