Dry goods and expiration dates

I found a box of Zatarain‘s jambalaya rice mix in my cupboard. It expired 2 1/2 years ago. Y’all think it’s still good? Or am I going to die if I eat it?

It'soaded with sodium, so you're good, beyotch.

I imagine the spice packet with all that monosodium whatever is as hard as a diamond by now.

by Anonymousreply 2July 23, 2021 5:13 PM

holy fuck! OP is an idiot, R1 can't spell.

see yas later, cunts!

by Anonymousreply 3July 23, 2021 5:14 PM

If its dry with no molds and shit, then it should be good. You gonna live, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 4July 23, 2021 5:14 PM

If it has bugs you will see them when you open the box or they will float to the top when you pour the rice into the water.

As Peggy pointed out to Marcy as Steve was preparing to eat some 20 year old Jiffy Pop popcorn Peggy had prepared, "Marcy, it says BEST if eaten by April 20th, 1968."

What are dry goods?

by Anonymousreply 7July 23, 2021 5:20 PM

Do you feel lucky?

by Anonymousreply 8July 23, 2021 5:52 PM

Hey R3, enjoy your skin cancer, sand fleas, and I hope you step on a hypodermic needle!

by Anonymousreply 9July 23, 2021 6:36 PM

You'll die only if you use shrimp that expired 2 1/2 years ago.

by Anonymousreply 10July 23, 2021 7:05 PM

The use of "dry goods" suggests an octogenarian, yet the sassy vernacular keeps it fresh and youthful. Youthy.

by Anonymousreply 11July 23, 2021 7:13 PM

Of ffs throw it in the garbage. Are you so poor you really have to consider eating it?

by Anonymousreply 12July 23, 2021 7:48 PM

OP, are you poor? Why risk food poisoning over a 3 dollar box of rice?

by Anonymousreply 13July 23, 2021 7:58 PM

No not poor R13. Just craving jambalaya with andouille. The store that I went to did not carry Zatarain’s. I made the old box of rice and it was fine. Very tasty. And I did not die. Bitches!
