I love this movie. I watched it together with Norma Rae and thought what great movies were made in that period. Do you like it? I am fascinated with American roadmovies.

I LOVE Paper Moon., GermanGayGuy. I was 13 when it came out and I asked for the soundtrack for my birthday. How could my parents have NOT known I was a little faggot? And Ryan O'Neal made me tingle down there. And Madeline Kahn was priceless. And P.J. Johnson as Imogene was FAB.

One of the best film monologues EVER - and much of it was adlib. Madeline Kahn was a comic genius.

American classic. I remember being excited that Tatum won an Oscar because I about the same age. I guess her father Ryan was less than thrilled to be upstaged by his own daughter. She was fantastic in this film. Kahn was great, as well. And P.J.Johnson as Imogene.
Addie Loggins : Imogene, what do you suppose Miss Trixie'd do if somebody offered her $25 to put out.
Imogene : Ooo Wee! You crazy? For that much money, that woman'd drop her pants down in the middle of the road!

What is Tatum up to these days? I continue to root for her. She’s had a rough life.

Reply 1, The Depression era song is great, too.
What does the Paper Moon mean? Despite this flaw, photos sitting in a paper moon had meaning because they were taken with a loved one. This concept, that life and all it contains is false until love is added, influenced the popular song It's Only A Paper Moon. Say, it's only a paper moon. Sailing over a cardboard sea. But it wouldn't be make-believe, if you believed in me.

There are many great period songs in this picture. A couple of ones I also like are "Sunnyside Up", "Let's Have Another Cup of Coffee" and certainly "Georgia (On My Mind)".

Peter Bognanovich directed the 1971 film, "The Last Picture Show". Solid film. "Paper Moon" was even better, IMO.

One of my favorite movies of all time.
The performances, the direction, the cinematography that so accurately captured the bleakness of the 1930s Depression era.
And of course, Madeline Kahn as Miss Trixie Delight, sitting up front with her big tits.

I always loved the guy who played the hotel clerk that Addie used to set up Miss Trixie.
He was nerdy hot.

“Oh she ain’t real sick, she’s just havin’ her ladies time”
P.J. Johnson deserved a supporting actress nomination. It’s damn impressive to steal scenes from Madeline Kahn
