Nancy should get McCarthy before the committee to have him answer questions about his role on January 6th while the insurrection was happening.

I read somewhere this morning that they should call Nancy to testify first and give details of her experience on 1/6, so McCarthy will be compelled to do likewise. Get that bastard under oath.

No one needs to hear from an asshole like Jim Jordan and his district shouldn't even be allowed to vote for sending such a fucking odious clown.

There was already a bipartisan deal worked out and Nancy pretty well gave the GOP everything they wanted (except a BLM and Antifa investigation). Then McCarthy and McTurtle got spooked and pulled the plug after the agreement was reached. I was disappointed that Nancy would allow McCarthy to choose any members after that fiasco. Jordan was already biased by saying this week that it was just another attempt by the Dems to get Trump. Nancy finally did the right thing - veto the asses who can't keep their oath. Let Liz Cheney be the lone Repub on the Committee. Nancy should ask Adam Kinzinger to join as well.

Nancy probably knew McCarthy would inevitably back out and wanted to make sure it was known she tried to include them, they just weren't having it.

That Shit Stain McCarthy wants to be House Speaker so bad so thought he could get away with putting the Trump Ass Kissers on the Committee. The type of people he nominated is all we need to know about what he thinks of investigation. He's scared he'll be called to testify, make Trump look bad and the GOP look worse. He called Nancy's bluff and she vetoed. She's won, asshole!

Plus she said she would have been fine with 3 out of the 5 McCarthy named, so it's not like she didn't approve the majority of his recommendations. If those 3 won't serve and cowtow to McCarthy, Nancy should pick Kinzinger, who like Liz Cheney, doesn't strictly follow everything the Repubs tell him to do. It would be bi-partisan; plus the Repubs were going to complain that it wasn't even if they got their Jim Jordans on there anyway. Get them under oath, Nancy!

Nancy could also ask John Katko, the NY Republican who was tasked by McCarthy with working out the details of the original bipartisan panel that McCarthy nixed.

McCarthy says the GOP "will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts."

To investigate an insurrection that they deny happened. Should be able to wrap that up quick.

Let's make something perfectly clear: The GOP want nothing short of the equivalent of twelve white male jurors in a 1950s southern courtroom where the white defendant i s accused of killing a "negro." That's the set-up they want and nothing less.

There are so many people prostrating themselves to Trump and his followers, and if the GOP does regain power, they will still be rejected. Trump would direct that someone else other than McCarthy should be elected. McCarthy, Pence, Pompeo, Hayley, Graham etc. all think they can win over the Trump base, but they never will. They sacrificed whatever little dignity they might have for something they will never get. They helped create the Trump cult and are delusional enough to think they can still control it.

Let this drag on and let info come out slowly into the mid-term election cycle.

Nobody can ever think Republicans would act in good faith about ANYTHING. None of them are good - absolutely none.

You know what a REAL party does? It looks and says - wow, we have some people in our party that went off the rails, we need to get to the bottom of this.

But no - Republicans want a race to the bottom. I just hope some people have opened their eyes the past 3 years. We know around 30% of the population won't ever - that's just a hard percentage of stupid and bigoted people that we always have had who ignore all information.

It's the other 10-15% and the Independents that matter.
