This whole mess has been very damaging for the Greens. Nobody really knew what they stood for, but for the last six weeks they've branded themselves as chaotic. Green always had an uphill climb. They've really hurt themselves this time.

I would also posit they called off the review/challenge because the damage has been done and the showing will be so Godawful in the pending election that she'll have to go anyway. Then they can try to rebuild but I think this has hurt the party's credibility very badly.
