Untreated strep will turn into a staph infection, I bet. Before antibiotics, children often died from complications of it—rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, kidney failure, etc.

One of my kids got strep every time it made the rounds at school. Twice a year. He rarely got sick from anything else. My other kid, who suffered from asthma, never came down with strep. Funny how that works.

I used to get strep the same way, R91, until my tonsils were removed. I never got it again after that
