Just like the fake The War On Christmas, Inc., Rubio and his followers found another boogieman to rankle up the culture wars. This is why repubs have lost and will continue losing.
What's the tl;dr?
BLM basically called on the Cuban government to crush the protests because they are counter-revolutionary.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 15, 2021 11:42 PM |
r7, it is, it is.
This is nothing new, just Florida Cuban-Americans wanting the embargo.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 15, 2021 11:43 PM |
Leftists are so weird with their love for the oppressive Cuban government .
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 15, 2021 11:45 PM |
r9 reading comprehension issues or right wing troll.
I need to ignore OP, now.
Posted some bullshit that quotes Rubio and Ben Shapiro.
r11, no one loves the Cuban government but the embargo has hurt the people and not have worked one bit in changing their government.
Biden wants to go back to Obama era stance with Cuba.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 15, 2021 11:47 PM |
R9 So BLM is pro Cuban government? I thought that BLM supported the right to protest the government and dissent? Why would BLM want to shut down dissent for the Cuban people? Confusing.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 15, 2021 11:47 PM |
Blm closed the comments on their IG post. Those Cowardly fascist cunts.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 15, 2021 11:50 PM |
BLM will be over when popular Democrats are voted out in 2022 and 2024. Only then will BLM be done and Democrats tell them to fuck off because they are a cancer to the Democratic Party and they costing them elections.

Apparently you do, R12.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 16, 2021 12:10 AM |
The left and progressives are nothing more than useful idiots.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 16, 2021 12:11 AM |
I thought that BLM supported the right to protest the government and dissent?
Like all left-wing movements, they only support individual rights until they are in power.
As Stalin said, "One man, one vote, one time."
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 16, 2021 12:26 AM |
That BLM statement is 100% correct.
Why the hell do we still have this embargo but have no issues with commie China?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 16, 2021 12:28 AM |
Like all left-wing movements, they only support individual rights until they are in power.
Like a right wing movements, they only support the rights of rich, white individuals
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 16, 2021 12:28 AM |
The right only cares about the Cuban embargo because it needs the votes of Florida Cubans.
All this is posturing to keep their votes
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 16, 2021 12:29 AM |
Leftists are so weird with their love for the oppressive Cuban government .
The US right has loved tons and tons of repressive Govtrip—Batista, Shah, Pinochet, etc, etc, etc
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 16, 2021 12:31 AM |
R15 is right. It was older Black voters ( many in the South) and unwoke working class Blacks who got us Biden as well as Adams in NYC. BLM and progressive whites will lose all that. Maybe Biden can pull it off with Adams as VP. I'm an older mixed race gay and basically always vote like old Black ladies.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 16, 2021 12:31 AM |
Among many delicious ironies present in BLM's statement, one of the best is that BLM's proclamation that because the Communist government of Cuba have been cut off from engaging in free trade with America (via embargo), the US is guilty of a human rights offence.
So, according to Marxist BLM, denying access to Capitalism = A human rights abuse.
Gotta love it.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 16, 2021 12:32 AM |
There is a lot of fake bullshit in this thread. Wow people are really working over time to spread misinformation.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 16, 2021 3:38 PM |
R24, Um no.
Not only has the US refused to trade with Cuba, the US has pressured many allies not to trade with Cuba. The reason is Cuba won't let large US companies in to rape their country. Cuba just wants to buy good like every other country.
The US just favors some dictatorships and community countries over others.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 16, 2021 3:41 PM |
The left have always felt that the people suffer under the embargo and it's not done anything to change the way the country is run. So thus we add to the suffering of the people. So why not lift it. If we did and the people starting seeing their lives change, perhaps then the would be motivated to change the world they live in. The embargo has stalled the obvious end of communism. Give em a taste of capitalism and it all breaks down.
It is time to change shit despite what a loud group in Miami say.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 16, 2021 3:46 PM |
Since all other communist countries have been complete and utter geocidal failures, I doubt the US embargo had much to do with the Cuban people demanding freedom and democracy.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 16, 2021 9:10 PM |
The people of Cuba are NOT marching against the embargo! They are marching against their oppressive dictatorship that has rules over them against their will for 60+ years?
Way to completely miss the point, BLM (and dems in general unfortunately)
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 16, 2021 10:57 PM |
R27, The dictatorship is what is causing the suffering of the Cuban people. For some reason leftists won’t acknowledge that.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 16, 2021 10:59 PM |
R30, they've all be indoctrinated, know very little about history or the world, and act out of profound need to be relevant.

by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 17, 2021 1:03 AM |
BLM just proved how stupid they are. As pointed out, the protest is not about the "embargo" which really hasn't had much of an effect (PS the rest of the world can still trade with Cuba).
Not to mention, Marxist-BLM complaining about no access to Capitalism for a Marxist country makes no fucking sense.
How triflin'.

R11, right-wingers are so weird about hating black protesters and saying it's cool to run them over but supporting Cuban protesters
They also claim they support Democracy but loved Trump's coup
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 17, 2021 2:28 AM |
You have no idea what a coup is, do you, R35?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 17, 2021 2:31 AM |
If you didn't read the Newsweek article, the only "backlash" BLM faced from the statement was from rightwingers who'd bash any statement by BLM.
[bold]But also, hey dummies, R9 straight up lied, obviously, in their post about what BLMs statement was.[/bold]
THE TRUTH IS: basically, BLM said the US should drop the punishing embargoes against Cuba because those are really only hurting average Cuban people.
I don't know if it's a good idea or not but many in the US feel the same way and it's NOT controversial.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 17, 2021 2:34 AM |
Most of us can read R37, so we know that BLM chose to criticize the US instead of criticizing the actual people oppressing the Cubans, i.e. the Cuban government.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 17, 2021 2:39 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 17, 2021 12:08 PM |
Yes, we all understand that Cuba has a repressive dictatorship, but the US has supported numerous repressive dictatorships around the world.
The American oligarchs hate the idea of communism because they will lose tons of money if the world moves towards communism. Heck, because of that we fought in Korea and Vietnam. It has absolutely nothing to do with “helping the people.” It’s about keeping the rich rich.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 17, 2021 12:10 PM |
Obama tried to bring some capitalism and trade to Cuba by lifting parts of the embargo that he could, but Trump overturned every measure of progress solely because the Cuban GOP supporters demanded it.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 17, 2021 12:11 PM |
Castro just replaced a replaced a Cuban dictator supported by the US.
Why do you think there was a revolution in the first place?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 17, 2021 12:12 PM |
The people of Cuba are NOT marching against the embargo! They are marching against their oppressive dictatorship that has rules over them against their will for 60+ years?
The people are blaming the dictatorship on the terrible economy. Much of that economy is because of the US efforts to isolate Cuba. People don’t march against dictatorships when the economy is doing well.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 17, 2021 12:14 PM |
BLM’s post is exactly right. America’s embargo has unfairly hit the average Cuban. America hoped the embargo would make Cubans topple their govt, but that never happened as Cuba got poorer and poorer.
Sure, people are protesting now, but why must America make people suffer so America can get a political win? The truth is America wants its big companies to go in a be able to profit off of the Cuban people and resources. This is the only reason for wanting to topple the communist govt
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 17, 2021 12:17 PM |
The people hate the Cuban government.
You can be on the side of the people or on the side that is oppressing the people.
If your tweets and instagrams think America is somehow in the mix here, then your tweets and instagrams - and you - are irredeemably stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 17, 2021 12:18 PM |
Uhm, R40, do you know anything about the history of communism in China? The Chinese Communist Party has violently suppressed demonstrations, it controls the internet, it has embraced a form of capitalism that entails forms of slave labor, it is currently committing genocide of a Muslim ethnic community. Sounds like a worker's paradise, for sure!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 17, 2021 12:36 PM |
R45, we have no obligation to trade with regimes that are opposed to us. Cuba is free to trade with other countries and has. It is the Cuban government that has made a mess of things. Socialist countries, with government control over production and everything else, has proven time and time again to be a complete failure, always repressive, and often genocidal.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 17, 2021 12:40 PM |
Is there any good reason to keep the embargo in place? It has been there for nearly 60 years and seems pointless.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 17, 2021 12:42 PM |
R41, PEOPLE hate the idea of communism. At no place or time has communism created anything but destitution, tyranny, genocide, and failure. Do you really want to give the clowns in Washington control over every aspect of your life. Are you fucking insane???!!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 17, 2021 12:43 PM |
The left wants to make the embargo the issue to play the game of distraction. The truth is yet another communist country has failed. It was a matter of time after the demise its puppet master the Soviet Union, which kept it afloat for decades.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 17, 2021 12:45 PM |
The people who are agreeing with BLM about the embargo obviously haven't read the BLM statement. It was not just about the embargo - it 100% overtly supports the current Cuban regime.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 17, 2021 12:55 PM |
It is telling that the most vocal opponents of socialism are those who lived under it.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 17, 2021 12:57 PM |
During the course of my work life in New York City, I've sometimes had the misfortune of working with former comrades from the Soviet Socialist Republic. Almost everyone of them had zero sense of teamwork, compassion, empathy social good or social responsibility. They are universally despised. So much for workers of the world uniting and all.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 17, 2021 1:07 PM |
R53: that explains why anybody would take a homophobic breeder bitch like Ayn Rand seriously. Seriously, that fucking cunt is proof that communism doesn’t go far enough. That so-called “collectivism“ she decried she gladly adopted for her own purposes when it came to the homosexuals and feminists. And her atheism was just another symptom of her internalized antisemitism, and it made her no better than the communists she claimed to despise and in many ways. Her idiotic blathering are more proof of why collectivism will always be justified, even when talking about collective punishment for collective crimes. God bless collectivism!

by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 17, 2021 3:11 PM |
A lot like this country did last June or Hong Kong did recently.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 17, 2021 3:18 PM |
THE TRUTH IS: basically, BLM said the US should drop the punishing embargoes against Cuba because those are really only hurting average Cuban people
But then if the embargo is dropped, then capitalism would come to Cuba. But BLM hates capitalism.
The reason why BLM never criticized the socialist government in Cuba is because BLM wants a socialist gov't like Cuba but with the money to fund it (hence the criticism of the embargo). BLM & its ilk are so romanticized by the "equality" in Cuba yet they don't understand the underlying fundamentals of the why everyone makes $10 a day - whether you're a doctor or a baker - or the universal healthcare in Cuba (only good when there's enough money to buy medicine or equipment).
