I want breathable underwear that deals with the moisture nicely because I can get very sweaty down there. I see some underwear on Amazon and Hollister and other clothing stores made of nylon. What are your thoughts on this material for underwear?
Is nylon underwear any good?

Did they ever start a Civil War over it?

Stick with cotton...nylon is nasty if you sweat.

When I trained for my first marathon, one of the first things they told me is “cotton is rotten.“

Viscose, silk, or cotton. Just discovered a fantastic shop out here in Europe and got 7 pairs of briefs and 3 of shorts. I do laundry once a week so it's good. Sleep nude after a nice shower. Best to keep you dry and not create a problem.

If you are running marathons or play sports, etc, there are high tech fiber underwear that wick away the sweat so that your tight white shorts won't become stained.
They are costly though - $30-$45/for one pair.
Otherwise, cheap nylon underwear from China sounds pretty disgusting.

No. I have a pair of $50 tek boxer briefs from Eddie Bauer that are moisture wicking, anti odor, cooling, etc etc. synthetic fabrics are shit.

Merino!

Nylon can get super funky. May be mitigated with some new fangled high tech odor control. I just know my rei nylon hiking shirts can only be worn when I'm social distancing.
Merino wool is amazing when it comes to odor control and is naturally moisture wicking. I have merino wool tops and socks. Tempted to try underwear, but they are pricey.

Cotton absorbs sweat. Nylon doesn't absorb it. Your pants will have to absorb the sweat instead

Cotton or linen boxers. Gotta be light linen though, heavy linen can get warm.

If we are talking about a sweaty pussy, or one that is damp from other secretions, you need cotton to sop it up.

What you want is rubber.

I recently switch to a Composition: 88% Polyester 12% Spandex. boxer brief from cotton boxer briefs. I am loving it, I have never had any odor problems with any underwear. It is way more breathable and cooler and just more supportive and feels better.
The majority of my new underwear is from UnderTech but I also bought some Jockey, Russel and Fruit of the Loom all with roughly the same blend, I like all of them, I went with UnderTech because it was on sale at the time.

Cary Grant always wore women’s nylon underwear when he travelled. Said it was easier to wash and dry in a hotel room.
Make of that what you will.

Nylon *is* plastic.
Think about it.

Go with modal fabric. It feels like nothing at all.
