For a few reasons-
1- Gary is clearly incentivized by the Mets organization to talk up certain players whom they overpaid for, so underwhelming players like Lindor or flat out awful players like "Grab my crotch 25 times a game" McCann are regularly tongue fucked by Gary.
2- Gary also slathers on the butter talking about opposing team's players and praising them when we hate them.
3- Gary tells really stupid jokes and makes references no one gets.
4- Gary meanders off into the most boring fucking stories.
5- Gary's laugh makes me want to punch a girl scout.

GKR are the best announcing team in baseball, in my opinion, but given their ages they probably won't be together for many more years. Perhaps Recker is being groomed to take one of their places?
