I love cats

I don't dislike dogs, but my heart belongs to cats. Yes, I'm a fat whore. So sue me.

by Anonymousreply 63March 30, 2022 8:21 AM

Thanks, you fat whore!

by Anonymousreply 1July 7, 2021 10:02 PM

I love both and very much miss having a cat. You do you! I don't like squirrels or any kind of monkey.

by Anonymousreply 2July 7, 2021 10:03 PM

The only pussy I love.

by Anonymousreply 3July 7, 2021 10:05 PM

I wish cats weren't so filthy.

It's their litter problems that cause cat allergies, not their fur or "dander".

They step in their poo boxes, bat their feces and urine around, walk around in their mess a few more times and then climb all over the kitchen counters and furniture.

Most cat owners don't have skeletons because their cat and its litter box is so filthy.

Don't even get me started on how disgusting, unhygienic and smelly cat houses are.

Cats are lovely and sweet, but disease spreaders for certain.

by Anonymousreply 4July 7, 2021 10:07 PM

Our two kitties used to perch themselves atop the heating stoves in our ancient apartment.

One day we took pictures of them and then posted an ad online, telling guys that if they sent us a picture of their cock, they'd get a photo of two hot pussies.

Got some really hot photos from that one!

by Anonymousreply 5July 7, 2021 10:09 PM

My cat and my home are not filthy

by Anonymousreply 6July 7, 2021 10:11 PM

R6, probably because you only have one cat.

I knew ONE clean cat owner with a tidy home. Her cats did not make me itch or sneeze because she gave them baths, washed their paws and trained them to poo and pee in the human toilet.

She was not the norm. But she got to keep her skeleton and didn't have acne from cat filth.

by Anonymousreply 7July 7, 2021 10:17 PM

Also, my cat does not "bat around " his feces. The nerve. If Mr Whiskers knew these things were being said about him he would express indifference with his usual languor, hauteur, and barely veiled contempt

by Anonymousreply 8July 7, 2021 10:17 PM

[QUOTE] Yes, I'm a fat whore.

That explains why you love them so much: cats don’t need to be walked.

by Anonymousreply 9July 7, 2021 10:19 PM

Love cats HATE litter boxes!

by Anonymousreply 10July 7, 2021 10:44 PM

Me too, OP. Me too. I've always been a cat person, since I was a gay little boy.

My two babies are the best. They are 12 year old black cat littermates from the rescue shelter, and are such great companions. I love them so.

by Anonymousreply 11July 7, 2021 10:46 PM

I love and adore cats, but we have dogs because my husband hates cats, is allergic to them, and doesn’t want anything that “shits inside” (I’m not included in that statement, of course!).

by Anonymousreply 12July 7, 2021 10:54 PM

What is this about skeletons? I don’t understand what that means in this context.

by Anonymousreply 13July 7, 2021 10:57 PM

I don't get the skeleton thing either

by Anonymousreply 14July 7, 2021 10:59 PM

Sorry, if you're not a cat owner and you visit someone's home with a cat, you can ALWAYS. SMELL. THE CAT SHIT. (Cat owners, you've just gone "nose blind.")

by Anonymousreply 15July 8, 2021 12:06 AM

r15 did you ever smell a dog's breath? Or a wet dog? It's vile.

by Anonymousreply 16July 8, 2021 12:14 AM

r10 If you hate litter boxes so much, you should consider using the toilet.

by Anonymousreply 17July 8, 2021 12:15 AM

That’s why you should house an airedale or dachshund with your cats and use pine litter. No poo in the house - just soggy sawdust to haul to the compost every other day.

by Anonymousreply 18July 8, 2021 12:17 AM

If you ever have a pet pig, you will never want cats and dogs ever again.

by Anonymousreply 19July 8, 2021 12:18 AM

Just for pussy lovers: Cat People, a new series on Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 20July 8, 2021 12:34 AM

@r13, @r14;

Owning pet cats makes your bones disappear.

It's from their poop, pee and filthy bacterial residue.

Don't believe me? Get an X-Ray.

It's not unusual for cat owners to have no skeleton. No bones in their body, at all.

by Anonymousreply 21July 8, 2021 12:51 AM

Not all cats use the pine litter. They will end up pooping everywhere but the box.

Also, the pine litter just ends up making your house smell like fake pine smell AND cat shit.

by Anonymousreply 22July 8, 2021 1:31 AM

R21, no bones in their bodies at all? Do you know how the human body works?

by Anonymousreply 23July 8, 2021 9:56 AM

Cats are assholes.

by Anonymousreply 24July 8, 2021 11:04 AM

I found the perfect solution to the litter on cat feet problem. I bought a thick 4'x6' shag rug at a discount store and put it in front of the litter boxes. I've got the whole setup placed so that the cats have to walk the full 6' of the rug before they get to bare floor. By the time the cats get off the rug their little tootsies are completely free of any residual litter. Once a week I pull the rug up and take it outside and give it a good shake and am astonished at how much cat litter comes flying out of it, and that's after giving it a daily vacuum.

by Anonymousreply 25July 8, 2021 11:11 AM

With my cat, the litter is mostly in the litterbox or in the tray the litterbox sits on. With them the litterbox is not the problem: they shed so much it is hard to keep up with all of the balls of cat furr. Needless to say, I do a lot of sweeping.

by Anonymousreply 26July 8, 2021 11:31 AM

I always wanted a cat when I was a child but wasn't allowed. We did have wonderful dogs, though, and my parents still have one. Now I live with my bf and he prefers cats, so he and I have two. It's the best of both worlds.

by Anonymousreply 27July 8, 2021 11:32 AM

Add me to the cat people list. When my 18 year old soulmate of a cat died nine years ago, we thought it would be a good time to break with tradition and adopt a dog. We searched for ages (trying to find an appealing dog when one is inherently a cat person is a challenge) until we found the perfect dog. And believe me, I love him to death but once he's gone it's back to a cats-only household.

by Anonymousreply 28July 8, 2021 11:47 AM

People who complain about how “filthy” cats are — dogs EAT cat shit. Also, do you wash your dog’s feet every time it takes a crap? What do you think it’s walking on?

by Anonymousreply 29July 8, 2021 12:24 PM

Cats are not filthy, the PEOPLE who are supposed to clean the litter box are filthy. Cats groom themselves and do not need/should not be bathed. With a cat, you don't have to walk them at 11PM in pouring rain when you have the flu. THE END.

by Anonymousreply 30July 8, 2021 12:35 PM

You can tell this was made by someone who lives with cats because of all the fluffy ass shots.

I have one cat and the litter box can get stinky if you don’t keep it up

by Anonymousreply 32November 1, 2021 4:21 PM

Cats don’t smell bad. Usually.

by Anonymousreply 33November 1, 2021 4:33 PM

I bail out older cats from the dog pound from time to time. The one I have now is 14. She is clean as a whistle but doesn't cover her poo in her litter box. I clean the box daily. Why would she not bury it?

by Anonymousreply 34November 1, 2021 4:35 PM

[quote] I wish cats weren't so filthy.

You crazy.

Dogs eat shit and then THEY LICK YOUR FACE.

by Anonymousreply 35November 1, 2021 4:35 PM

I was so happy to see this thread!! I just turned 50 and got my first kitty. She’s adorable and I’m in love. I’ve let my gym membership go and I’m done trying to date, so I’m gonna eat what I want, play with my kitty, and enjoy my golden years!

by Anonymousreply 36November 1, 2021 4:37 PM

I loved my 2 cats but after they died I never wanted to deal with a litter box again. I’m in an apartment and the litter was just too much. The smell. The cats tracking it through the apartment. I was constantly cleaning up litter.

I could see being in a house and having a cat, but when space is limited - having that shit box in close proximity drove me nuts.

But love cats.

Cats are magical creatures, God like

by Anonymousreply 39November 1, 2021 5:18 PM

I've thought of getting another cat but hesitate because 1) what if he/she won't eat? I've never had a cat who didn't 2) what if the cat doesn't listen to me? My other cats knew I was boss, and leaned not to jump on the kitchen counter and table because those were rules 3) what if I've developed an allergy? I have many news ones since 1998 when I had a cat.

by Anonymousreply 40November 1, 2021 5:31 PM

Cat person = Introvert; possibly autistic

by Anonymousreply 41November 1, 2021 5:33 PM

R41 That is me, even though I have a dog.

by Anonymousreply 42November 1, 2021 5:35 PM

I love both, but prefer cats. Since I have 3 kitties, I walk dogs at my local Humane Society. I come home with the smell of pee and poop in my nose, from getting those good boys and girls out of their nasty kennels

by Anonymousreply 43November 1, 2021 5:41 PM

R34, some cats just don't cover completely. It seems to me that though all cats have the same instincts, sometimes they're a little weak. Like the hunting instinct; some cats are real hunters, and others will sit and watch a bug on the wall and meow at *you* to do something about it, or just yawn and settle back down to sleep. I've had cats who make a few perfunctory scratches in the litter next to whatever they've just eliminated but without covering it at all. It's like something is telling them to scratch, but the follow-through is missing.

Having a cat and a dog is pure bliss

by Anonymousreply 45November 1, 2021 5:50 PM

It takes 3 or 4 cats to achieve the stink that a single dog can produce. Plus, dogs are sooooo needy. And loud.

by Anonymousreply 48November 1, 2021 5:57 PM

In regards to the shedding problem, according to this YT channel’s vet, it really boils down to good diet. I’ve always fed my cats quality canned food, not kibbles. My two cats don’t shed as much as what some people describe their cats do.

I love all animals but cats are low maintenance. Dogs require too much attention. It's easy to leave extra food and water out for kitty for a short trip and they don't require walking.

I would never get involved with someone who didn't like cats. Makes them suspect to me and it's "love me, love my cats".

by Anonymousreply 50November 1, 2021 6:29 PM

[quote]Having a cat and a dog is pure bliss

I really hate those staged pics of cats and dogs, or videos of the both sharing a chair or something. The dog usually has his eyes wide open like he's afraid that cat will try something awful, or that it's completely unnatural for them to be posed so close together.

by Anonymousreply 51November 1, 2021 6:57 PM

r36 = sad last days

by Anonymousreply 52November 1, 2021 8:12 PM

Dogs are emotive and are for needy people.

by Anonymousreply 53November 1, 2021 8:15 PM

I don't know if they're for needy people, but it's absolutely true that introverts gravitate to cats while extroverts gravitate to dogs.

I'm a total introvert and have only had cats. My sister is total extrovert and has only had dogs.

by Anonymousreply 54November 1, 2021 8:23 PM

I had dogs all my life until my mother died as she was terrified of cats. As a little girl she was on an outdoor swing one day when one of her older brothers came up behind her and threw a cat on her. Of course the poor cat was terrified and scratched her terribly. Due to that she developed a pathological fear of cats. She was so terrified of them friends who had cats would have to lock their cats in a room or put them outside before she'd visit. After she died I got my first cat and have never looked back. I still love dogs, but cats are so much easier to care for. And there's little to no noise to have to deal with.

All my dogs were great and I loved them all. But none of them calmed me down like my cats do. My dogs begged for my attention constantly. My cats grant me their attention when they choose, which makes it all the more special.

I love cats, but haven’t had one since I had to put my last cat down 20 yrs ago. I have a funny story for the peeps who say dogs are cleaner.

About 30 yrs back our neighbors had a litter of about 7 kittens who used to crawl under the fence & use our backyard as their litter box daily. We have lots of dirt & shrubbery so they had ample space, but eventually our backyard STANK to high heaven & we planned to clean up the poop all at once.

The weekend came & we were set to start shoveling shit, but lo & behold, all the cat shit magically disappeared! Not one bit of poop to be found. It was the strangest thing.

So another day goes by, & we see our neighbor’s two massive dogs jumping at the fence, & eventually they both made it over the top. They roamed through the backyard looking for something, but were sadly disappointed, methinks.

(In this day & age of cameras, I’m sure we would’ve had an entry for America’s Funniest Home Videos.

by Anonymousreply 59November 2, 2021 4:44 AM

I’m an extrovert and I prefer cats. I think because I socialize and am out and busy so much in my life - and it’s part of my job basically - when I’m home I see that as my quiet low key time. Plus they’re so much easier to take care of, clean themselves, and are so much cuter - there are very few dogs with truly adorable faces.

by Anonymousreply 60November 2, 2021 7:47 AM

People who say cats are dirty are stupid and know nothing, yet must let their fat fingers type. Cats are very clean animals. If they have a garden they bury very well their poop and double check the smell on the earth pile. They clean their fur with their tongue and paws. They are not to blame if they are held in closed and have a litter box. Your shit and pee would smell worse if you could not rinse the toilet, not to mention your sweat under armpits and feet and bad breath.

by Anonymousreply 61November 2, 2021 7:49 AM

People who say cats are dirty and smell get that from TV commercials selling "non smelly" cat litter.
