I did use other accounts to evade a subreddit ban. I don't do that anymore, but it seems I am blocked...

What causes you to be banned in the first place?

R6, R7 - I didn't do anything offensive. I posted on dirtypenpals by using several account in order to attract more roleplayers. I am not sure how it came out or how it started in the first place, maybe I posted not recognising the posting limit (once within 8 hours). Then I got suspended. I used another account and I got permanently suspended. The mods there are so mean.

If I was programming Reddit, I would put a cookie on your computer that says Reddit hates you.

Once you logon, you are screwed. This routine would work on every future device

They're identifying both your IP and your devices. If you bought a new device, waited several days if not weeks, used a VPN from the very beginning AND didn't engage in sock puppetry or suspicious behavior, then you could probably go undetected.

Cookies are the way that we know what device we are dealing with. Cookies ignore the IP between sessions.
