“Black Jesus + Amen Fashion” by Lady GaGa sounds just like and Madonna song
Does anyone know what she means with the lyrics? “Jesus is the new black…”
Also, minus the chorus, which is very GaGa, the song sounds just like something Madonna would have have released in the early 90s or late 80s. Even the styling to her vocals in how she sings the verses is very Madonna meets Britney. Listen to it. It’s sooooo Madonna.
It’s a very interesting and underrated song though. She got a lot of flack for her Born This Way album and all her albums after flopped until A Star Is Born, but I think it’s ART. It was one of the first albums for gays and Born This Way was groundbreaking.
This song is hated by many though, even though it’s terrific. I remember my friend loving her during her “Fame/Fame Monster” era but then when this era came she hated her, especially this “blasphemous” song.
I never understood.

It's a stupid song. Some of hers aren't. But almost none of her songs are as dumb as 90% of Madge's lyrics.

It's a cool song for sure. I can kinda hear Madonna in the verses. But I think it's more they actually sound the same tonally than copying any particular Madonna song. But the verses, as you say, are pure Gaga.
Born This Way has grown on me. I never really liked it when it came out. And I loved The Fame Monster. But there's really I lot of great songs on that record. And some shitty ones too...

Has anyone noticed that chicks_on_speed came out with a compilation of three albums called “girl monster” years before Fame Monster? Some songs that Gaga did are VERY similar to some chicks songs on their album 99 cents.
