Remembering Terry Fox Who Died 40 Years Ago Today - June 28, 1981

I imagine many of you outside of Canada don’t know who Terry Fox was.

He was a young man with cancer, an amputee, who tried to run across Canada in 1980 to raise money for cancer research. I remember this well because it was a big deal at the time. I was 15 when he did his run.

It’s hard to believe he’s been gone 40 years. He is a true hero who has stayed in people’s memories all these years later.

If a had cancer, and I have had it in the past, I would find better use than that of my remaining time.
