I always liked the first couple seasons before all the drama got super forced and everyone had to be super rich. The OC was one of the epicenters of the 2008 real estate crash and it was interesting to see it play out on the show. Jeana had a house for each kid in season one and then by season three she lost them all and her own house was in foreclosure. Lauri, with her wax face, was living in some dumpy townhouse. Tammy, who claimed she once lived in the biggest house in OC, was now working for Vicki out of Vicki's home office (imagine the nightmare that was).

Lauri had a new house in season 2 and let her daughter live in the townhouse.

She was a single mom. The townhouse was nice.

r28 Laurie seemed really nice when she was poor but as soon as she got a rich man she turned. She was not "letting" her daughter live in her townhouse, she was charging her rent. She would not let her son live with them when she got rich because she was afraid it would ruin her marriage to George. Vicki took Laurie under her wing to help her make money but when she married George, Vicki was soooo jealous she could not see straight. P.S. Laurie, like all the OC housewives, is a deplorable Trumpster.

They all even admitted to voting Republican during the season 2 reunion, and spoke about how OC is mostly Republican so when you live there you assume the Republican candidate will win until you realize there is so much more outside or OC.

Ryan was a lazy 22 yr old; by the time he appeared on the show. Tamara married Simon; when Ryan was 13. Ryan resented growing up with a lot less and not having had the same opportunities his younger siblings had.

Heather Dubrow and Shannon aren’t the only ones genuinely wealthy.

Season 11 was great but season 12 is top notch. There has not been a single moment that was not entertaining. Peggy joining and Lydia coming back was perfection, to add a more calm balance to the huge personalities like Kelly or Tamra. I feel they’re a bit mean to Peggy though. I hate it.

I am watching season 13 and it’s boring compared to what were seasons 11 and 12. I honestly do not know why they didn’t keep the 12 lineup for another season. There was so much anger and drama there that would have rolled over into 13.

But before the 12 reunion even aired someone I know told me Execs were planning on dropping 3 of the ladies, starting with Peggy and Meghan. They were up in the air about Lydia but came up with the conclusion there was no place for her moving forward, but she didn’t want to come back anyway because her husband didn’t want her to so that was easy for them.

They ended up considering keeping Meghan because she dropped the bomb she was pregnant with her boy, which she wanted during the reunion. That was calculated by her because she knew she may be dropped so she thought that revelation may save her and keep her on the show, so we can see her go through this pregnancy she wanted and fans knew she wanted, but in the end they cut her still, although that almost did save her.

Lydia was brought back after production found out her and Tamra built a new friendship, and she was brought back specifically to be a bridge between the ladies and try to mend the relationships that were falling apart, especially Tamra and Vickie. They saw her be the bridge between the ladies and Alexis in 8 and they wanted her to do that again. They didn’t tell her this but they knew she would want to try and fix things, as this was who she was. After she did what they needed her to, they saw no need for her moving forward, but her husband didn’t want her doing another season and being around those women, so she left. So she wasn’t fired, even if they were going to.

Is Shane featured heavily in the five seasons his mom is on the show? I started watching and I like it but I’m not gonna make the effort if he isn’t heavily featured.
