Also, anyone ever noticed that when his nude terminator character comes up to the 3 skinhead punkers (one played by bill paxton), that the blonde guy looks down and with open mouth and tongue seems very very interested and liking the terminator's manhood?!...

guess it comes with being a actor, but i can't even fathom being completely nude in front of a entire film crew and be walking and swinging away for all to see!...Course Arnold being a bodybuilder is obviously a major narcissist who enjoys/enjoyed showing himself off..

It's an amazing film, considering how it took the movie industry by surprise. Yes, hot men, too. One of few films I saw twice in a theater as a teen.

I just finished it OP. It was good. This was such a good star making vehicle for Arnold. He was so young! You can't take your eyes off him in any scene. With the wig. makeup, and robotic persistence in the beginning, he had a very Michael Myers-eque vibe to him. The nightclub and police station scenes were epic. Suspension of disbelief, but how exactly did they end up at a robot factory in the end?

It was Conan that made Arnold and his original cro-magnon jaw a star.

I didn't know that. I thought this was the star maker. Terminator is iconic where Conan is not as memorable. I should watch it.

TBH, I thought the hottest character was Linda's WHORE roommate's boyfriend. She obsessed with a walkman so large it need it's own strap to be carried purse style. The boyfriend wore this skimpy little 80's colored manties as he tries to fight off Ahhnold. Smoking hot. Michael Biehn was hot, but not smoking.

speaking of the CONAN movies, in the 2nd one conan the destroyer, it was ahead of time decided to show off arnold's body in only a big bulging codpice most of the time, as they figured why hide one of the great bodies on the planet, also humor was thrown in and it more light hearted than the first film. Sadly, this tone also stopped the original script of arnold's conan having what was supposed to be a extremely sexual soft porn sex scene with the evil priestess played by sarah douglas as she seduces him to do her bidding.. WOULD LOVE to have seen that! At least, we have the naked arnold sex scene in the first Conan movie with the evil witch at night!...

off topic, but in those cheesy b-level lou ferrigno hercules movies (he made 2), there was also suppose to be a extremely sexual soft porn fucking scene with big breasted b movie queen sybil danning's evil character, but it was scrapped at the last second so the film could be more "family friendly"? what family is taking their kids to see a movie a b movie hercules film?..

Agree with OP that CGI has ruined movies. I watched the second half of this last summer for the first time since the late 80’s and the movie is genuinely scary and so very good. I haven’t been scared by a movie in 20 years.

R19... true, the ferrigno hercules movies DO have silly outrageous scenes that kids would think would be cool, then again, there is a hugely massive musclebound man shown off throughout the movie at the same time, and without any actual sex scenes, there is some sexual innuendo that goes on, perhaps though it would go over the heads of kids....

I love the first Terminator movie, much more that the sequel. In my mind the Terminator series parallels the Alien series in that the very first film is by far the superior, and is a lean and smart, followed by a bigger more "exciting" action film, and then the rest is meh. The first Alien film is really a horror movie while the second is an action movie, and while the first Terminator is definitely an action movie it has the feel of a good horror or suspense movie, while the second is pure action.

Conan was so fun. Arnold’s education and coming of age. Ya, know. Laying around reading scrolls and stuff. When I used to dine out, when the waiter asked what I’d like, I would say ‘to crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.’ But only if he was cute.

The witch may hive been burned but Sarah would have been hotter. Over the years I've seen various articles about her that HINT she quietly lived an exotic or kinky lifestyle but never with any details or clues.

as i said the sequel conan the destroyer with sarah douglas as the evil high priestess, originally the movie had her character and arnold's conan in a extremely sexual sex screwing scene, but it was dumped because they wanted the movie to be more light with comedy... if you watch this movie, you can see the scene of the two in her palace where she proposes his task for her (to take her virgin niece to find the piece that will bring her statue of a GOD to life, afterwards her virgin niece to be sacrificed), she walks around him as he stands there, and caresses his upper body, i'm guessing in the original script this is would have led to having sex....

When Arnold leans in before saying “I’ll be back” is so genius. James Cameron deserves all the awards.

Terminator 2 is still my favourite but i do love the first movie. They really should have stopped after 3. The rest are shit. Although i don't think the TV show was too bad.

I totally agree with Terminator being more of a horror film and T2 a huge box office spectacle. The killing sequences in the original are very hard core.

Note the dystopian apocalypse is 2029. That feels about right. Cameron was a fantastic director. For an actor with Arnold's range, you just could not ask for a better film. His accent is perfect as well.
