This always happens now.

Anyone else find it disturbing how there are millions of homeless people on the street, people starving all around the world, wars going on, people who can’t find work, etc, and yet people are focused on a mentally ill famous rich white woman of all things?

People have their priorities fucked up.

I thought this was the Teen Mom Amber. Either way, it's pathetic how she related herself to the story.

Tamblyn was really excellent playing Christina Ricci’s bully in that 90s CGI reboot of CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST.

She writes poetry as a career now, I think.

R3 That wasn't her. That was Jessica Wesson.

I’m Britney Speares!

No! I’m Britney Speares!

I’m also Britney Speares!

I remember when she compared Bernie Sanders being invited to speak at a women's event (which has had male speakers in the past) to being raped.

She's the actress who replaced the grown kid on Two and a Half Men. She played a lesbian...or the "Half Man" in the title. She played Charlie's daughter...after Kutcher had replaced Sheen. They made her character as much a sleazy womanizer as Sheen's had been.

And she's married to that older comedian who uses the F word three times a sentence during his standup routines.

Love you R1. Thanks.

Her dad was Riff in the original WEST SIDE STORY, and was also Dr. Jacoby in Twin Peaks. That seems to track to net Amber, who is married to David Cross.

More importantly, he was Norman Page in Peyton Place.

Then you'll not know what she said until the 1st of the next month.

Joan of Arcadia hears voices just like Britney does

by Anonymousreply 13June 27, 2021 3:31 AM

The Britney Spears thing could be a way to discuss the broken conservatorship system where people with any amount of money are abused in old age or at a point of weakness. Instead we're talking about how it relates to celebrity culture, because culture is more important than politics nowadays.

Women supporting women again…

R1 A bit of whataboutism in your comment. Britney is famous and rich because she was an immensely talented cultural touchstone, and many of us grew up listening to and watching her. The fact that she is white does not make her any less deserving of sympathy. The fact she is mentally ill just makes it more outrageous that she has been exploited by so many people (and probably is largely a product thereof). In short, she is special and beloved by many. No one's priorities are fucked up for caring about her situation.

I had exactly the same reaction to the Amber Tamblyn piece. Very dismissive description of her father as a former actor. . It's unlikely she would have had her career without the parents' support and know-how.
