Example, I have a friend who, when he was about 8 or 9, he “played doctor” with his 4 year-old sister. She didn’t think anything of it at the time. Then when she was 13, she suddenly remembered it, and she got all upset that it happened. She hadn’t had a “repressed” memory. At the time at the event, it just had no significance to her and she didn’t think about it for a long time. Then when she finally recalled it, she was old enough to appreciate the significance of it, and she probably overinflated the significance of it.
