New young NYC Transplants are some of the worst, most inconsiderate people ever

I just returned from a trip to NYC; first time in 15 years. Last time I noticed most of the people in Manhattan are 25-35 years old. This time around, the same thing. I suspect they all want to live there, but many of them get chewed up and spit out, and the rest of them get married, have kids and get the fuck out for suburban living. Just my observation. But, yes, many of them are entitled transplants.

New York is not some sort of untouched island that must be protected from outsiders. It is the economic capital of the US. Therefore, people are going to move their, especially if they are going to get ahead economically and socially. Don’t like it? Move.

Meh. This happened to me like 25 years ago when I lived on West 10th and Bleecker. A bunch of idiots presumably from the musical-theater program at NYU decided that 1 a.m. on a weekday was the perfect time to belt out showtunes. They were sitting on a brownstone stoop right across from me. I flung open the window and cursed them out. I still laugh at their started faces as they quickly scurried off. NYC, like L.A., thrives on the misbegotten dreams of the delusional would-be famous.

They seemed like they were all on “Molly” but had stupidly taken it too late in the night and it was hitting them hard at 6AM.

They look like they're from OHIO!

Because they probably are. They’re transplants. They all suddenly NEED to live in NYC or LA. Always the same two places.
