She was a close friend of Marilyn Monroe, who called her twice the night she died and asked her to come over. They used to have pill parties back when they lived in that apartment complex on N. Doheny where movie stars would come over and fuck them. Jeanne was too busy to visit Marilyn that night, or maybe she was jealous that Marilyn had gotten herself involved with the Kennedys and wouldn't shut up about it. Anyway, Carmen stayed home. I read this book by her gay son Brandon and it was pretty bad. Kind of like reading a Darwin Porter bio. She had an interesting life though.
