Kristen Wiig to Star in a new Gender-Flipped Take on ‘The Stepford Wives’

This isn't a good look for Ms Wiig, after the Ghostbusters debacle.

With the right writer, it could be interesting.

R9 You should check out Welcome to Me. I agree that she received a huge amount of praise after Bridesmaids and never delivered, except for this one movie. She's a specialized tool and they kept/keep trying to make her a mainstream comedy actor.

I can never figure out why Wiig never (or rarely) works for me in films. I loved her on SNL. I kind of feel that way about Aidy Bryant. They're great sketch comedians, I just don't buy them as series or film leads. You lose what makes them special when you remove that heightened, slightly exaggerated comedy style and try and make them more 'legit.

Well, to be fair, given the basic premise, we can at least be assured that the "husbands" will all be hot.

I feel that way about Will Ferrell, r15. Always enjoyed him on SNL but haven’t liked him in any of his movies (or on The Office.) Guess I’m in the minority since he became a huge film star.
