All authors are saying is Google and many other auto translation services have issues from their point of view. Of course they also have a fix for that.....

Quite honestly most auto translation services (including Google) are what they are, which ranges from piss poor to acceptable.

Any native speaker of a language or has mastered one fluently enough can tell what has been AI generated. While most or much of it makes sense in terms of conveying meaning, no one would speak or write that way.

Like Sister Sixto AI often struggles to translate idioms accurately.

I used it to learn little useful Spanish phrases like ‘Chinga tu madre’ & ‘Pinche pendejo’

Plus a whole host of others mainly having to do with getting drunk or getting laid.

Also bananas are sexist as they look like penises. Unless they're too ripe and turn black. Those ones are ok. Small yellow ones from China are acceptable too. But no white bananas, those ones are racist.

This reminds me of a discussion I head on a podcast a few weeks ago. They were complaining about certain languages that has masculine words and feminine words and how that is problematic and how it needs to be corrected.

I work really hard to be understanding and an ally to a lot of stuff, but the entire time I was listening to it, I was thinking, you fuckers need to get a life. Is this what we've come to.

Then I see this post and all I can wonder is do we have too much free time on our hands. It's Google Translate FFS.
