Kate Middleton may decline new title out of respect for Princess Diana

Kate may turn down the title in respect of Princess Diana, who famously became Princess of Wales in 1981 after marrying Prince Charles.

Will William insist she accept the title Princess of Wales?

Can't we just have one thread for all of this British Royal crap please?

by Anonymousreply 1June 13, 2021 1:57 AM

She has awhile before deciding on this. QEII has to pass and Charles has to be king.

by Anonymousreply 2June 13, 2021 2:01 AM

Whatever Kate decides, let's hope the Markles loses their titles.

by Anonymousreply 3June 13, 2021 2:04 AM

By the time Kate becomes PoW, Diana will have been dead for at least 30 years. How long does that title have to be held in abeyance? Diana wasn't even married to Charles when she died.

by Anonymousreply 4June 13, 2021 2:35 AM

If Diana's marriage hadn't ended in divorce and she had lived she would have been queen (provided Charles outlived QEII) and Catherine wouldn't be stealing anything from her.

I hope that Catherine does take the title. She'll be married to the Prince of Wales, and she deserves it. It's part of the package.

Let's not get carried away with worship of a departed heroine.

by Anonymousreply 5June 13, 2021 2:35 AM

I think it would be lovely, gracious gesture on Kate's part to forego the title Princess of Wales. Nothing wrong continuing to pay respects to Diana.

Maybe the next Princess of Wales can Prince George's wife (should he have a wife).

by Anonymousreply 6June 13, 2021 2:41 AM

This sounds like a load of crap coming straight from a Montecito fax machine.

by Anonymousreply 7June 13, 2021 2:41 AM

Yeah, the sourcing for this is really dicey. I don't see any point in Kate giving up the title. It made sense for Camilla to demure, but Kate is William's first and only wife, mother of his children, and should be Princess of Wales to his Prince.

by Anonymousreply 8June 13, 2021 2:47 AM

She'll decline it over Ma Middleton's dead body.

by Anonymousreply 9June 13, 2021 2:50 AM

Will she be anointed with holy oils????

by Anonymousreply 10June 13, 2021 2:50 AM

R10: As an olive branch to her sister-in-law, Kate will be annointed with essential oils.

by Anonymousreply 11June 13, 2021 2:54 AM

What a ridiculous story.

Completely made up. The Duchess of Cambridge would never have discussed such a thing in public, or for public sharing in a manner that is ever more ridiculous,, and the concept itself is absurd. AND nothing would be more affirming of Diana's position in the history of the realm than having the title as the consort of Diana's son.

Ridiculous.

Meanwhile we experience the daily PR assault from the Cunts of Sussex, whose DAUGHTER WHO IS BLACK HAS NO TITLE, JUST AS HER BROTHER HAS NONE, AND BECAUSE OF SECURITY FEARS WE HAVE HAD TO MOVE TO CALIFORNIA TO PROVIDE SECURITY AND A WAY TO EARN INCOME WHILE REPRESENTING ALL THAT IS HOLY IN DIVERSITY AND HUMAN FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. Channeling the screeches of the female cunt in the duo.

by Anonymousreply 12June 13, 2021 2:54 AM

Yes, [R10], she will.

by Anonymousreply 13June 13, 2021 2:54 AM

These royal articles get dumber by the second. When William becomes the Prince of Wales, Catherine becomes the Princess of Wales, end of story.

[quote]The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, is automatically entitled to the Princess of Wales title when Prince Charles takes the throne from Queen Elizabeth. Prince William will then become the Prince of Wales.

No. When Charles inherits (not "takes", ffs!) the crown, the title Prince of Wales will merge with the crown until he grants it to William.

by Anonymousreply 14June 13, 2021 2:57 AM

That's true. Charles is not obligated to make William Prince of Wales immediately--or at all. I'm sure he will, but they may not do the investiture the same year as Charles' coronation. Charles has already said he wants a scaled-down coronation.

by Anonymousreply 15June 13, 2021 2:59 AM

Charles turns the color of a grape when he walks 2 feet. His mother will outlive him.

by Anonymousreply 16June 13, 2021 3:01 AM

For fucks sake, i just bought a new set of dishes! Back to eating off paper plates.

by Anonymousreply 17June 13, 2021 3:03 AM

No Markle, whatever happens, your spawn and their nauseating lil' names will never be prince and princess. And you and your husband are not long for duke and duchess either.

by Anonymousreply 18June 13, 2021 4:07 AM

Who the f*** cares? The British Royal family lives in a bubble. They don’t care one iota about what we or the folks in England think.

by Anonymousreply 19June 13, 2021 4:16 AM

[quote] Kate Middleton may decline new title out of respect for Princess Diana

I'm not dead yet, you ANOREXIC CUNT!

by Anonymousreply 20June 13, 2021 4:21 AM

Diana, Princess of Wales forever.

Retire the title.

by Anonymousreply 21June 13, 2021 6:16 AM

I think she will take the title. Why not. Married to future king of UK.

by Anonymousreply 22June 13, 2021 6:25 AM

Diana was a bipolar immature brat (like her son) who threw herself down the stairs while pregnant, chased after the Pakistani surgeon messaging him 200 times a day when he dumped her, brought her kids to party on Dodi's boat, and called Willz her best friend and Haz the spare. Mother of the year!

Give Kate the title.

by Anonymousreply 23June 13, 2021 6:37 AM

The Brf don't give a fuck about us plebs. Who cares.

by Anonymousreply 24June 13, 2021 8:44 AM

She should use the title. If she doesn't no one else will ever be able to use it

If camilla wasn't such a homewrecking whore, this wouldn't be an issue

by Anonymousreply 25June 13, 2021 9:00 AM

Also Kate's fans are currently sitting on Lipstick Alley linking to a Russian blog that is solely dedicated to Doria. The site fabricates information. Doria is a convicted criminal. A whore. This is what Kate's supporters do everytime they take a hit. Which they did because of the refinery29 article. The Lipstick Alley unpopular thread has Millions of views. The Brf hasn't done a thing to stop their supporters and we are talking mainstream blogs that interact with Royal Reporters retweeting this link which makes out Doria to be a black criminal grifting whore. And they call themselves names relating to Kate. So are Kate supporters. The Brf just doesn't give a fuck.

by Anonymousreply 26June 13, 2021 9:09 AM

[R26] There are also "mainstream blogs" which openly claim a lot of terrible things about the BRF and they haven't gone after any of them either. The only people who seem to be trying to silence criticism are the Sussexes.

Assuming William becomes POW I don't see why Kate would decline to use the title. Camilla uses DOC because of her part in the break up on Charles's first marriage but there's no reason for Kate not to make it her own. The title Duke of Edinburgh belonged to Philip for 73 years but that doesn't mean Edward can't make it his own as well.

by Anonymousreply 27June 13, 2021 9:38 AM

Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge will be a bit of a mouthful for people to say, so yes, she'll be Princess of Wales, for sheer convenience.

by Anonymousreply 28June 13, 2021 9:42 AM

Not a glimmer of a chance she won't be Princess of Wales.

by Anonymousreply 29June 13, 2021 11:33 AM

Is the Express one of the Sucksexes outlets?

Deal with it, Megaloons: Kate will be The Princess of Wales. Just like Camilla actually is, although she isn't referred to as PoW in public.

by Anonymousreply 30June 13, 2021 11:42 AM

[quote] The site fabricates information. Doria is a convicted criminal

She's never been convicted of a crime. If it were true,

1. The tabloids would have printed that the first day they knew Meghan and Harry were dating

2. That crazy stepsister would have told the tabloids

3. The crazy violent drunk brother would have sold the story to the tabloids

4. Arrest reports are a matter of public record. Are we supposed to believe no one in the entire world asked about this info?

by Anonymousreply 31June 13, 2021 10:30 PM

Of course, Catherine will use the title.

Those titles have been held by many people who have died.

No one stops using a title because a previous owner died.

This story is really, really stupid.

by Anonymousreply 32June 14, 2021 12:05 AM

So manipulative.

by Anonymousreply 33June 14, 2021 12:07 AM

It's counter pr. Kate's fans are currently trolling twitter with racist tweets that show black men killed by police with statements like Meghan will be a real American soon lol. Death threats in other words. They have profile pics of Kate. It's just been retweeted again by another celeb. So millions are seeing Kate's fans make death threats. Not a good look. But it's the Brf. And they just don't give a fuck that their supporters are racist trolls

by Anonymousreply 34June 14, 2021 12:30 AM

I'm rather hoping that Charles goes before Lizzie and the crown goes right to Wills. Then George can become the Prince of Wales and we won't have to deal with the Princess title for several more years - especially if George turns out to be a homo.

If Wills is given the title, does he get a big ceremony at Caernarfon Castle?

by Anonymousreply 35June 14, 2021 1:17 AM

Seriously grow up r34. This isn't junior high, and the battle of the Mean Girls. Give it a rest no one cares about the online bot battles.

by Anonymousreply 36June 14, 2021 2:31 AM

dumbest thread ever, try harder KGT

by Anonymousreply 37June 14, 2021 2:34 AM

If William becomes Prince of Wales, there probably will be a nice ceremony in Wales. They haven't had a PoW investiture since 1969, and before that, there hadn't been one since Prince David (future Edward VIII) was given the title in 1910. It's not a ceremony that happens very often, so it would be exciting to have a new one.

by Anonymousreply 38June 14, 2021 2:36 AM

[quote] If William becomes Prince of Wales, there probably will be a nice ceremony in Wales.

Is it tradition to have it at Caernarfon Castle or is that just where Charles' investiture took place?

by Anonymousreply 39June 14, 2021 3:04 AM

Charles and David were both invested at Caernarfon, so that may be the tradition.

by Anonymousreply 40June 14, 2021 3:21 AM

I wonder if Kate ever gets some surprise anal?

by Anonymousreply 41June 14, 2021 5:40 AM

[quote] No one stops using a title because a previous owner died.

No: Camilla is technically the Princess of Wales right now, but she does not use that title out of respect for Diana, and instead goes by an ancillary title, the Duchess of Cornwall.

by Anonymousreply 42June 14, 2021 5:47 AM

[quote] Camilla is technically the Princess of Wales right now, but she does not use that title out of respect for Diana, and instead goes by an ancillary title, the Duchess of Cornwall.

It's the least that old bag could do after breaking up their marriage and enticing Charles to want to be her Tampax!

by Anonymousreply 43June 14, 2021 3:15 PM

Haha! Nice try, Hag. She will be the Princess of Wales. You, however, will probably be giving blowjobs to deplorables for pocket change. Muhaha! Should have played nice with the Queen.

by Anonymousreply 44June 14, 2021 3:20 PM

[quote] Is it tradition to have it at Caernarfon Castle or is that just where Charles' investiture took place?

The ceremony of the investiture has only been done one other time in the modern era: for Edward VIII (later Duke of Windsor) in 1911. It was also held at Caernarfon Castle.

by Anonymousreply 45June 14, 2021 5:15 PM

It could be seen as a big insult to Wales - certainly played as such. There is zero chance she won't be Princess of Wales if William becomes Prince.

by Anonymousreply 46June 14, 2021 6:29 PM

I'm not so sure Camilla's not using her Princess of Wales title was "out of respect to Diana" so much as it was a stipulation of Wills and Harry "fully embracing" her and giving the marriage their "blessing".

William and Harry were the stars of the family at that time, so yes, they had that power.

by Anonymousreply 47June 14, 2021 7:04 PM

R45 - Do you know why there weren't investitures prior to 1911? Or, more directly, why Edward VIII got one? He was something of a dandy. Might have he insisted on one?

by Anonymousreply 48June 14, 2021 7:28 PM

Prince David, the future Edward VIII, was only 16 years old when he was invested as Prince of Wales. He didn't want to be invested yet at all, but his father George V insisted. David protested the widely released picture of him wearing his crown and robes: He thought his schoolmates would make fun of him. His mother Queen Mary tried to reassure him that his friends would understand that he was simply doing his duty, but he wasn't comforted by that.

by Anonymousreply 49June 14, 2021 7:31 PM

You're American r47, right?

by Anonymousreply 50June 14, 2021 7:32 PM

Just a tip for the Americans: most of what you read in the Daily Express is complete bullshit. The best thing to do is just not read it.

by Anonymousreply 51June 14, 2021 7:34 PM

[quote] for Edward VIII (later Duke of Windsor) in 1911.

"Now, I'll have to abdicate . . . like Edward Vee One One One."

by Anonymousreply 52June 14, 2021 7:38 PM

Thanks, r49. I didn't realize he was so young.

I don't know if I've read conflicting reports or he changed over time, but he was known as something of a "people's prince," so to speak for a while? He was popular. He also spent a great deal of money, spent a lot of time out of the U.K., had indiscreet affairs and felt entitled to it all and became increasingly imperious.

by Anonymousreply 53June 14, 2021 7:40 PM

Camilla didn't decide not to be styled Princess of Wales, Her Majesty did. No one else has the authority.

by Anonymousreply 54June 14, 2021 7:49 PM

David had the Palace PR machine working even more furiously for him than it ever did for Prince Harry. David was the heir, after all. The press adored him because he was young, blond, and destined to be king, but in reality, he was a short, stupid, petulant man with the emotional capacity of a teenager.

David hated carrying out Royal duties, which he referred to as 'princing.' Like his younger brother Bertie, David had been emotionally neglected by his parents and abused by a psychotic nanny as a young boy. He had serious issues which his high-pressure job worsened. If they could have found him a supportive, appropriate wife like they found for Bertie, David might have been able to deal with becoming king. But he was only supposed to marry a princess, and all the princesses his parents found either he didn't like or they didn't like him.

Actually, there was one (whose name escapes me) whom he did like, and who liked him, and she might have made a good match. But there was a streak of mental instability in her family, and his parents feared for the children the marriage would create. After they put the kibosh on that marriage, David never seriously pursued an appropriate bride again.

by Anonymousreply 55June 14, 2021 8:07 PM

[quote] Camilla didn't decide not to be styled Princess of Wales, Her Majesty did. No one else has the authority.

No one has to use a title if they don't want to. Many aristocrats do not use theirs.

You'd have to provide a link to a believable source if you want anyone to believe it was the queen's express decision that she go by Duchess of Cornwall.

by Anonymousreply 56June 14, 2021 9:06 PM

She needs to shove that crown up her cunt so cuntgan can't get it.

by Anonymousreply 57June 14, 2021 9:26 PM

Why shouldn't Kate use the Princess of Wales title? Diana has been dead for nearly a quarter century, there is a whole generation of grown men and women for whom Diana is nothing but an historical figure. Time and life move on....
