The body of a 41-year-old Canadian was found gagged and stabbed multiple times in a mobile home in El Roble, Puntarenas.

The alert of the discovery of the corpse was received by agents of the Organismo de Investigation Judicial (OIJ) this Monday at dawn.

Upon arriving at the property where the camper was, next to a home, agents identified the deceased as Steven Spencer Wellard, who apparently lived at the site.

At the site, the Public Force arrested a 23-year-old man, Lefevre Hernández, who is listed as a suspect in the murder. He was sent to the Public Ministry with the corresponding report, in order to define his legal situation.

For now, the Judicial Police reported that the motive for the homicide remains under investigation, since it is not clear if it could have been an assault or another situation.

"The case remains under investigation to determine the circumstances of what happened," reported the OIJ through its press office.

Steven Spencer Wellard, a 41-year-old Canadian, was killed in a stabbing attack in El Roble de Puntarenas. Apparently, Spencer was resting in a camper (van enabled as a house) that he had parked on private property in the Las Parcelas sector. Around 2 a.m., the alleged perpetrator sneaked up to the trailer, entered, gagged the Canadian and inflicted 14 stab wounds on different parts of the body that killed the foreigner.

Apparently, neighbors in the area saw a suspect leave, so they entered the property to see if everything was okay. At that moment they came across the bloody scene and notified the authorities. The Red Cross arrived to attend to the victim but he did not show vital signs, so they declared him dead. For their part, the administrative police officers guarded the place while waiting for the agents of the Judicial Investigation Agency to appear to proceed with the removal of the remains and collection of evidence.

According to the Puntarenas Deputy Prosecutor's Office, "Lefevre was detained on public roads, outside the home of the offended man, in El Roble de Puntarenas." They also commented that they carry out various investigation procedures at the victim's home and then they will take the investigative statement from the suspect. The authorities presume that criminal acts are on the rise in this sector of the Pearl of the Pacific because apparently there are at least four drug groups that sow terror in the central canton.

So it may not have anything to do with his porn past as we thought.

My ex is Costa Rican. Never had a problem holding hands and pretty his whole family accepted that he was gay. Costa Rica has gay marriage and their last elections were won on gay marriage, something that never happened in the US. In fact, Obama went against gay marriage both times he won as president.
