Mine are Wyoming or Iowa.
When listing all the 50 US States, which are the one/s you always or mostly forget?

Delaware.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 10, 2021 9:02 PM |
Anything in the middle
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 10, 2021 9:07 PM |
Iowa, yes,. And often Arkansas (but not Kansas). Sometimes Nebraska.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 10, 2021 9:09 PM |
It's some of the state capitols I can't remember anymore. I don't have any problem remembering the states.

You mean like Frankfort, KY, and Pierre, SD?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 10, 2021 9:15 PM |
Puerto Rico
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 10, 2021 9:15 PM |
Yes, r6, the ones that have a city(cities) that are more well known and you think they're the capitol and they're not. I always remember Pierre and Bismarck, but can't always remember which Dakota gets which.

You also have trouble remembering that a CAPITOL is a building. A CAPITAL is a city.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 10, 2021 9:28 PM |
It's kind of hard to forget a state...
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 10, 2021 9:28 PM |
I'm oh dearing myself for the next few minutes at, r9.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 10, 2021 9:31 PM |
All of them ??
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 10, 2021 9:32 PM |
None of them, as I successfully made it through elementary school.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 10, 2021 9:33 PM |
I knew the states and capitals in second grade.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 10, 2021 9:37 PM |
r15 - me, too.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 10, 2021 9:42 PM |
No one needs to know every state except for California and her future territories like Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Colorado....etc...etc
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 10, 2021 9:43 PM |
OK, without looking it up, who can name the last FIVE states admitted to the Union?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 10, 2021 9:52 PM |
Hawaii, Alaska, New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma (off top of my head)
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 10, 2021 9:53 PM |
Nebraska. I just never, ever think about that state. Ever. I don't even ever see news items from that Nebraska, come to think of it.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 10, 2021 9:55 PM |
The only five states I haven't visited are: MT, ID, ND, SD, and NE.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 10, 2021 9:56 PM |
SD, NE, KS and KY for me.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 10, 2021 9:58 PM |
I can only do three, r18.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 10, 2021 10:01 PM |
I forget none, I learned all fifty states when I was in grade school and can pick them out on a map without names or borders. I also knew all the countries of the world then, but there have been so many additions and names changes since I would struggle with some in Africa and the former Soviet Union. I can also name all the provinces of Canada and states of Australia.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 10, 2021 10:02 PM |
I have trouble with the Pacific Island countries (Vanuatu, etc), R24.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 10, 2021 10:05 PM |
Vermont.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 10, 2021 10:06 PM |
But can you name everyone of your grade school teachers...including their first names?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 10, 2021 10:06 PM |
^ every space one
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 10, 2021 10:07 PM |
I couldn't name a single grade school teacher, I only remember things that are important to me.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 10, 2021 10:08 PM |
First names? Not all of them, but most I think.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 10, 2021 10:12 PM |
Some of us are old enough to remember countries on the map like the Belgian Congo, French Equatorial Africa, Ceylon, Rhodesia, Malaya, Tanganyika, British Guiana, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 10, 2021 10:12 PM |
I've managed to meet folks from more obscure African countries like Burkina Faso (I almost wrote Upper Volta), Chad, Congo-Brazzaville and Sierra Leone.
Upon meeting a fellow from Djibouti, I mentioned: "Ah! Terretoire des Afars et Isas!" He replied proudly the HE was an Afar!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 10, 2021 10:23 PM |
I don't even know what NE stands for...what fucking state is that?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 10, 2021 10:49 PM |
If you know geography, it’s pretty easy to picture the map and just list them off as you consider each one’s location. There’s no reason for forgetting one.

New Enema
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 10, 2021 10:52 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 10, 2021 10:54 PM |
I try to blot Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas out of my mind.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 10, 2021 10:54 PM |
R20, the Children of the Corn live there.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 10, 2021 10:55 PM |
[quote] OK, without looking it up, who can name the last FIVE states admitted to the Union?
That’s easy, because there have been only five states added in the 20th century.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 10, 2021 10:57 PM |
Okay R1 to R39 - fess up: How often do you actually makes lists of all 50 states.
Without resorting to cut and paste from Wikipedia.
Well???????
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 10, 2021 10:58 PM |
[quote] How often do you actually makes lists of all 50 states.
As many times as I am asked to.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 10, 2021 11:04 PM |
Did you know that more states (6) were added during President Benjamin Harrison’s single term than under any other president?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 10, 2021 11:06 PM |
[quote] But can you name everyone of your grade school teachers...including their first names?
It would be kind of odd to even know their first names as a kid.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 10, 2021 11:06 PM |
Bahaahaha! No, R36. I am not also R33. That's a great reason for me not to visit NE, and also a great way to remember it, R38.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 10, 2021 11:14 PM |
I knew their names as a kid. First and third grades I know their last names, but not first. Otherwise: 2) Helen 4) Grace 5) Ben 6) Katherine 7) Harold 8) Ed.

by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 10, 2021 11:34 PM |
Idaho
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 10, 2021 11:48 PM |
I can reduce the number to 33 if that helps.
Here are 17 states that count for fuck all and would not be much missed*: Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
*Not counting states that I dislike and would never want to visit like Texas and Florida, but which have some importance.
