The worst is when you’re somehow activating it but you can’t even figure out where it is.

The new Apple remote is terrific. Can we assume you know how to adjust the settings OP? Or did you come directly to DL to vent? A simple Google search found the following:

Adjust the Siri Remote's touch sensitivity: If you find the remote's touch controls too sensitive, or not sensitive enough for your liking, you can jump in the Settings app and fine-tune it. Go to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Touch Surface Tracking and try out the different options.

Agree - it is AWFUL... Surprised Apple would put that thing out in the market.

It's really hard to operate in the dark. Very poorly designed and difficult to manage at different angles. Most people I talked to hate it.

The old remote isn't the greatest, but I've heard good things about the new one.

When did the new one come out? I bought mine half a year ago and I dislike it.

richontech.tv loves the new Apple TV remote. I still have the old one, but it doesn’t keep its charge like it used to.

Can you use the new remote for an older Apple TV unit?

The new remote began shipping in the last 2 weeks, so if you bought one before, you have the older model without the iPod-like track wheel at the top. It will work with the previous versions of Apple 4k and HD TV (meaning the small black box interface used to stream content to your television, not the subscription-based TV service).

I just realized that I can use my iPhone as a remote control.

I insert it in my hiney. It vibrates GLORIOUSLY.
