I just watched this on Peacock streaming, even though the article says it hasn't premiered yet.
Youngsters on DL won't recall, but when the show premiered on Bravo EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO (!) it was a sensation. Even on DL, and nothing impresses us. Every new ep generated long and lively threads on DL.
I won't post spoilers from the special, but I thought my elder brethren should know about it.

The earliest episodes were the best, Carson was very funny, Ted seemed above it all/but amused.
My favorite episode was the NYC set builder Butch who yearned for a woman named Lauren (?), had an art opening.
Tom's redesign of the apartment was great.
