Phoebe Cates’ and Kevin Kline’s two kids aren’t very good looking. Like the Willis kids, I think it’s just a bad mix of both parents’ genes.

I recently saw a picture of Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Anderson's kids and they're all good looking. Their oldest is growing into a stunner.

I recently read a book review about a biography of Philip Roth, and the article mentioned that Roth was verbally abusive to Clair Bloom's daughter by Rod Steiger. He forced Bloom to banish the daughter from the house because he said seeing her annoyed him. I didn't see a photo of the Steiger-Bloom daughter, so I don't know what she looked like.

R108, I added the quote to highlight I was referring to the son of Liz Taylor's daughter with Mike Todd. That's why I said he has beautiful eyes like his grandmother (Liz).

Full disclosure: I lived for a few years on an academic teaching grant in New Mexico (speak of culture shock and far from home). At a local busy cafe, sitting at the counter for coffee and a slice of pie, one of Taylor's sons, now middle-aged and looking quite counter-culture, was seated a couple of counter seats away from me. You could not miss the eyes, the face structure, the lips. And tall, like his father - Taylor was short and dumpy once the slim twenty-something figure faded and with it the tiny waist.

Life truly is unfair.

R108 - It's extraordinary that out of three children and three grandchildren, only Liza missed out on the striking Taylor looks. Although, actually, I erred in my first post: Liza does have blue eyes, but the rest of her face is pure Mike Todd. She actually grew up into a reasonably attractive woman, not a striking beauty like her half brothers and mother, but the kind who ages well - which I suppose is something, as her mother aged horribly.

There could be an evolutionary advantage for daughters to look like their fathers. The father is more likely to keep a child who resembles him.
