R1 It's late but your post made me laugh quite a bit. In any case, I certainly hope it isn't. I don't know much about her but from what I've seen on DL, I don't want to know.

Someone is just going a bit "Jojo crazy" tonight.

That's the chance you take by casting a non-actor "celebrity" to create buzz and get eyeball$ on your movie.

She bluntly explains it; there's gonna be a total disconnect between her fan base -and- her playing a character. I'll chalk her own qualms about the kiss up to being young and naive - heck, some adult pro actors regret and don't do intimate scenes.

I hope she does get the scene pulled and talks other shit about the movie - it'll serve the producers right for going for a gimmick hire as their star.

I realize that she became known for her appearances on a children's dance show, but at 19yrs. old, she needs to drop the hair bow. She is WAY too old for that. It's actually kind of weird and creepy that she hasn't.

Coming out as "a member of the LGBTQ+ community", as she declared on the cover of People, does nothing--ZERO--for gay & lesbian progress. Coming out in a cloud of ambiguity is regressive & weak, not reflective of any substantial pride at all. What young women on verge of actualizing their sexuality need these days is someone like this young woman to make a definitive statement about her definitive sexuality. Instead she wimped out & flopped around in murkiness, which indicates to her young followers that their sexuality/identity is more complex than it really is. I do not buy that any of the labels du jour apply to her at all. Bisexual perhaps, most likely a lesbian. But "a member of the LBGTQ+ community", a "community" that now includes sex workers, fluid gender concepts that borders on mental illness, niche fetishes, people who identify as "queer" but offer no clear definition of that means...She squandered an important oppurtunity to says "Hey, sometimes you're just gay, like me", and it was most likely a combination of two reasons: marketing & not being completely ready to come out at all, which she simply should have waited until she was.

While on the one hand, I am tired of heterosexuals forcing their "lifestyle" down my throat via constant PDAs in movies, tv, and in real life, I also think that if you are going to be an actor, you need to understand that you are portraying a character. The character is kissing another character.

Sure, she has a girlfriend, and appearances on social media seem very performative & insincere, especially because it's all based on visual perceptions & a desired image for a given purpose. Actually declaring that she is a lesbian or a bisexual woman who is in a relationship with a woman carried heavy influence, very meaningful, legitimizing influence over young people who need to that. Appearing one way is not the same as saying, "Yes, I am that way." Too many people are caught up in the nuances of otherwise simple issues, making them more complex than they actually are. This was her opportunity to clear away those cobwebs, especially for young women who may be mistakenly equating "trans" with simply being a lesbian.

I guess you have little idea about Jojo Siwa's reach. Her fanbase is not just people on tumblr (or wherever they've migrated). It is a HUGE thing for Siwa to come out. That she hasn't yet chose the ding!ding!ding! word you'd like means little.
