Many of these people were not celebrities when they appeared on the show. Drop Schaefer, Kulp, Eden, and Spelling. Of the rest, Lanchester is the only one who didn't play herself. You could add Eve Arden, Bob Hope, Orson Welles, and Tennessee Ernie Ford

Poo shoes thread

I haven't seen a Poo Shoes: J'accuse! post in months, I thought y'all got Covid and died.

Cornel Wilde was the hottest, but Elsa Lanchester was the funniest.

by Anonymousreply 5June 1, 2021 12:52 PM

Ernie Ford

by Anonymousreply 6June 1, 2021 1:34 PM

Elsa Lanchester is the best on the list but where the hell is TALLULAH BANKHEAD? How many little gaylings were introduced to her in that fabulous goldmine of an hour of campy comedy?

by Anonymousreply 7June 1, 2021 1:37 PM

R7 is right. I forgot about her.

by Anonymousreply 8June 1, 2021 1:39 PM

Tallulah, the Alabama foghorn.

by Anonymousreply 9June 1, 2021 1:39 PM

I liked the episode where J Edgar Hoover guest starred in drag.

Van Johnson soliciting Bobby the bell boy for sex.

by Anonymousreply 11June 1, 2021 1:58 PM

r7 r8 r9 Tallulah was not on "I Love Lucy," only "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour." If you're going to include those shows, you'd need a much bigger poll to add Bob Cummings, Fred MacMurray, Red Skelton, Paul Douglas, Cesar Romero, Danny Thomas, Ernie Kovacs, Milton Berle, Ann Sothern, Betty Grable, Harry James, Fernando Lamas, Maurice Chevalier, Ida Lupino, Howard Duff, Edie Adams, Rudy Vallee, and June Haver.

by Anonymousreply 12June 1, 2021 2:02 PM

You can include all those people and Tallulah was still the best.

by Anonymousreply 13June 1, 2021 2:04 PM

My favorite guest star was that QUEEN who was scared to death after being on the jury of a murder trial and was subletting the Rircardo's apartment for the summer.

by Anonymousreply 14June 1, 2021 2:05 PM

J. Edgar Hoover never actually appeared on the show. But he was that sweet little old lady known for regularly attending filmings and uttering that famous "uh oh" that was used to sweeten the soundtrack on so many episodes.

by Anonymousreply 15June 1, 2021 2:08 PM

The worst had to be Ernie Ford. I hate those episodes. I don’t care for the Bob Hope one either.

by Anonymousreply 16June 1, 2021 2:13 PM

R7, Tallulah Bankhead didn't appear on I Love Lucy so why would she appear on this list?

by Anonymousreply 17June 1, 2021 2:51 PM

r17, see r12.

by Anonymousreply 18June 1, 2021 4:28 PM

Stupid thread, dahlings.

by Anonymousreply 19June 1, 2021 10:55 PM

Maggie, the cleaning lady, played by Hazel Boyne in the straw hat number (Season one), and Ida Moore who danced with Ricky (Season two). Moore is adorable in everything I've ever seen her in.
