Alexa Demie took 5 years off to play a teen on Euphoria. Her yearbook exposed her. She's really 30-31 this year instead of 25-26.

At least Granny Gabrielle Carteris never lied about her age...just her address so she could go to West Beverly High.

Jack Noseworthy's wikipedia page says he was born in 1969 but graduated from high school in 1982. LOL.

Wiki still uses the 1969 birthdate for jack noseworthy, but his bio still notes he graduated from high school in 1982.

Teri Garr was notorious about fudging her age. She was born in 1944, but claimed at various times to be born between 1947-53.

There were some articles back when Julia Roberts was pregnant with the twins that shaved 5 years off her age but I don't know why. I remember when she gave birth and CNN reported her as being 37 and people here on Datalounge joked that she was probably spitting nails, angry that her attempt to lie about her age didn't take.

Rebel Wilson claimed to be 29 when she was actually 36.

She took offense to be called out on her lie claiming ageism and sexism in the business made her do it. She said that as an actor it’s more important to have a “playing range”.

I remember seeing Sally Field on the Oprah show in the early 2000s (?) & Oprah was going on about Sally turning 50. Field was born in ‘46. I don’t think she was outright lying about her age, I think Oprah just goofed, & she didn’t correct her on it. I know it couldn’t have been in 1996 because I was away at college & didn’t watch Tv from 95-97.

Everybody in old Hollywood did it. Lana Turner looks several years older than 38 in “Imitation Of Life”. Even with the dizzy filter she still looks wrinkly and older.

Helen Lawson. She's a hundred if she's a day.

Lana was a teen when she became a star in those Andy Hardy movies(and she looks like one) of the late 30s so 38 really does work out.

No one knows really exactly how old Ken Wahl is. He's written down several different dates on official public documents.

An interesting fact is that Dierdre Hall says she is older than she is. She was looked too mature to play adolescent roles when she was in her teens so her agent suggested she add ten years to her age so she could play more adult rolls and could work full days.

LOL. No one adds ten years to their age. If you are 16 and want to work adult hours you just say you're 18, not 26. She didn't start acting until she was a young adult, anyway. Her first marriage was in 1966. You think she got married when she was 10? Whatever.

I've never heard of her before, but Wikipedia states she died in 1995 at the age 73. It's certainly possible she shaved a couple of years off her real age and died when she was actually in her late 70's.

Marion Davies was born in 1897 but claimed in her autobiography that she was born in 1905.

Some people can get away with shaving years off their ages. My mother would have been a DL icon because she truly looked 10 years younger than her age. On my brother's first day of junior high school, some of the older kids asked if he would introduce them to his hot sister. She never lied about her age though. One of my friend's mother's didn't believe me when I told her how old my mother was, which at the time was 47 years old. She though my mom was mid-30s.

My ex was like that, too. He could shave 7-8 years off his age and it was believable. He always aimed for 10, though, which was somewhat of a stretch. He was like that until he turned about 55 or 56, when suddenly he could only get away with about 5 years lower than his real age, but that's still good. For both my ex and my mother, it was just good genes AND they both colored their hair but it actually looked natural. Both had darker brown hair.

Nicola Coughlan of Derry Girls and Bridgerton doesn't lie about her age, but man she could say she was half her real age of 34 and I'd believe her, especially when she's dressed in her Derry Girls Catholic school uniform.

In fall of 1999, I read a profile of Kira Knightly that she was 17. I noted this because I was also 17.

The next time I read something about her a few years later when she was more famous, she was suddenly three years younger than me.

Almost all the silent actresses took a few years off of their ages, it was really hard to look things up back then. Lillian Gish, Pola Negri, and the ones listed above all did it. We should have a Pola Negri thread.

In her brief comedic turn, Francesca Hilton, Zsa Zsa’s only child, joked that her mother lied so much about her age that she, her daughter, was now older than her mother.

You have to chop them in half and count the rings, dahling.

Or if you want to skip the violence and simply count the rings, the gold bands usually accumulate one every five years after 20. The ones with the diamonds tell about other activities than aging.

Courteney Cox has always looked older than her age. She was 31-33 in the first two Scream movies, but looked late 30s/early 40s. Still very attractive, though.

I went to high school with a guy who's had some minor success in movies and TV--a hey it's that guy type. His IMDB currently lists him as 6 years younger than his real age, but he was a cool guy in high school, so I won't out him.

You can always tell when these gals are lying. They'll often slip and use Roman numerals instead of arabic numbers or refer to the old Julian calendar.

Irene Dunne was only 4-5 years younger than Lillian Gish and Mary Pickford who seemed like permanent relics of another era, where Irene seemed so sparkling and modern.

Dunne was born in 1898 making her the oldest teenager ever recorded and almost thirty-eight when she played the dewy Magnolia Hawks in 1936's "Showboat"! Somehow she got away with it.

He was originally 1969 and I always thought it was strange because my Mom and him would have been in the same grade in high school they went to and she didn’t recognize him.

I went to the same high school too and he came in one day during theater class to visit my theater teacher Mr. Lowe. I always thought he was cute in the Bon Jovi and Brady Bunch movie.

Jean Arthur I believe, like Irene Dunne, got away with playing roles almost a decade younger than her age, which she fibbed about and probably only came out when she passed away.

That was like an online discussion I once read over whether it's illegal to fake your death. Apparently it's only illegal if you are doing it to perpetrate some kind of fraud, like giving your family a big insurance payout. It's not illegal to lie about whether you are alive or not.

I'll never forget Esquire showing a photo of Nancy Reagan when she was First Lady blowing out the candles on her birthday cake with a caption below saying, "Nancy Reagan, 62, celebrates 60th Birthday."

Priscilla Barnes apparently put her birth year as 1958 on official documents, so that age is on public records sites. But she was actually born in 1953 or 1954 since she graduated from high school in 1972. New Jersey birth records from that time aren't public record yet to find the exact year she was born.

Angelyne put various younger years of birth on official documents too, including when she ran for governor of California, ranging from 1958 to 1973(!). She was really born in 1950,
