I’m very Afrocentric and I love ancient Egyptian art! Are any DLers Hotep brothas?
Can I be part of the Hotep movement if I’m white?

Well, ancient Egyptians were NOT black so if blacks try to horn in on it, why can't you?

Actually, many of them were--Nubians who had migrated northwards.
The ancient Egyptians who were decidedly not black were the members of the Ptolemy dynasty (including Cleopatra), who came to rule Egypt eventually--they were immigrants from Greece and Macedonia, and were white.

The Ancient Egyptians considered Nubians to be different from themselves, and in hieroglyphics drew the Nubians to look differently from how they drew do themselves. The Nubians were like mercenaries who came from further south in Africa and were black but what were not ethnically Egyptian.
