Jason Johnson concealed some of his anger to become a regular at MSNBC but now it's oozing out of him. If you can predict what someone is going to say before they say it, why listen to them? He's good buddies with Tiffany Cross and they seem to be in the same place--we had to fight for everything we've gotten while everything is handed to these white mediocrities. They're both kind of damaged people. and I don't know enough about them to speculate why but they seem to have no lives apart on-screen punditry.

I actually can't tell when Joe is "on fire" or "frothing at the mouth" when he goes on his rants.

Rachel actually had to have TWO guests on the first 20 minutes (Schiff and the NYT reporter) to focus on the DOJ surveillance of Schiff and Swalwell. She's happiest spending that time alone reading out transcripts of newsworthy events that we already read 6 hours before.

R171 - I like Chris Matthews and am glad he's at least making the rounds hawking his book. I really enjoyed Hard Ball and miss the high pressure atmosphere of his former show even though he could be annoying. He is a bottomless well of political knowledge and explains things in such a way that even a novice like me has learned a great deal. I do hope he continues to appear on MSNBC beyond peddling his latest book. Joy had him on the other evening and it was a treat to watch him.
