I worked at Stapleton airport in Denver (before they moved) and Im here to tell you,the second someone started acting crazy security would come out of the woodwork . I remember one time this bitch was late boarding and insisted they pull the plane back to the gate (yes,she really thought that was doable) and they carried her ass out by her arms and legs ! Her screeching the whole time. This was long before checkpoints etc like it is now.

I can't speak for everyone, of course. I called her "nuts" because her continual screaming long after it's obvious that nobody is reacting the way she would like, and her continuing to resist law enforcement, indicates she's truly not rational.

R49, It was a small regional airport, much more personal than the big internationals. Here are a few stories.

When a chef learned he could not take his kitchen knives on board he buried them in the bushes out front. They were found later and confiscated. I guess he thought he'd get them on his return.

Passengers often missed their flights, thinking that because it was a small airport that they could cruise in at the last minute. When they were turned away, mayhem ensued. One woman lay on the terminal floor and wailed. Another guy ran around screaming, fell, cut his head, and bled all over.

A man could not take his knife onboard so he hid it on top of a vending machine. Picked it up on his return. Source for this story is confidential.

It was amazing how many people thought that their bottles of alcohol were not liquids. If they could not pass them to a friend or get it back to their car they had to surrender it. Did not make for happy customers.

R89, partly it's security screening. Many of our incidents happened at checkpoints. Going through security screening raises anxiety levels. One our security agents shared that with me after yet another incident of someone losing it.

I wish all Karens would be hauled away in handcuffs as soon as they start complaining about something.
